Rock-solid Performance and ReliabilityA 7200 RPM drive complements the high capacity delivering a power combination of extreme storage and top-end desktop performance. And 32MB cache optimizes burst performance and reduces data throughput bottlenecks. Now delivering predicted failure rates of 0.34%, the Barracuda 7200.12 hard drive continues to provide industry-leading reliability.
SATA III InterfaceSATA 6Gb/s (SATA Revision 3.0) provides twice the bus bandwidth of SATA 3Gb/s (SATA II) along with enhancements including a new Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and improved power management capabilities. SATA 6Gb/s interface enables the use of the industry’s newest and fastest hard drive controllers targeted for high performance desktop, gaming and entry level server systems.
Pros: I quit using Seagate after using 2 7200.10 drives that ran hot and were noisy (sounded like rocks banging around inside the drive). Switched to WD and Samsung since then. However I'm very pleased with this drive; very quiet, runs cool. Nothing like my old 7200.10's. I guess Seagate is good again?
Cons: Slightly below HD103SJ F3 performance, but overall still an excellent drive (and slightly cheaper than the F3).
Overall Review: Seagate bought Samsung and WD bought Hitachi. Hopefully even though 2 more major players are out of the HD market, the competition will continue to get a boost.
