Pros: Upgraded from a 1TB and really like the extra space. Easy installation with Seagate DiscWizard v13. Hard drive was recognized at 2.72TB and my 1TB drive was copied over in no time. It was surprisingly seamless upgrade with my home network.

Cons: A bit high price, but then I'm getting 3TB of storage.

Overall Review: Not sure if the warranty is 3 or 5 years. I've seen both. Will have to check the Seagate site. A little concerned on performance from the reviews I've read. I hope this drive keeps on spinning and the performance is adequate.

Pros: Worked fine right out of the box; installed and configured with no hassles. I was able to easily configure it as a single partition. I configured it for GPT instead of MBR; and thus I have access to full 3TB (formatted as 2.72TB) without breaking it up into partitions. No extra software or hardware was needed. I have a new Puget Systems PC whose configuration made this install very straightforward: Asus P8P67 Pro REV 3.0 mobo, Intel i7-2600K CPU, 16GB RAM, two Intel 510 SSDs, 5 additional internal Seagate Barracuda HDs, two 3TB eSATA HDs (based on WD Green HDs, custom-built by Puget Systems). Win 7 Pro 64-bit SP1, Antec P183 v3 case, Antec CP1000 power supply, It runs just slightly warm to the touch, about the same as my other non-SSD HDs. Note: I have a 120mm fan dedicated to my (lower) HD bay where these drives are installed. I scanned the whole drive for bad spots without significant findings or problems.

Cons: No cons that I've found. I needed the 3TB of space for my digital photography hobby, so easy access to this much space is very welcome.

Pros: I picked up 4 of these drives this week when newegg was having a fire sale on them. Here are some pro's for you. 7200RPM Runs cooler than my 1.5TB versions of these drives Excellent for a home RAID array Got them on sale (20 bucks off + free shipping) Drive were WELL PACKAGED. Looks like newegg is no longer using bubble wrap and has gone with a cardboard box SURROUNDED by bubble wrap and paper (a good thing) All 4 pass SMART and seatools 5 yr warranty Shipped with updated firmware I replaced my 1.5 TB raid 5 array with these drives and they formatted and swapped over seamlessly. I'm using a RocketRAID SAS card and i'm seeing on average 650 - 700 MB/S read and 600 MB/S write in Crystal Diskmark. SCREAMING fast drives if you have the right hardware to support them, and I haven' hit a bottle neck yet in I/O when transferring raw AVI or photo's to the storage drive. If you need to store large amounts of data and or are planning on building a RAID setup these are great

Cons: Other than the price (which is still a bit steep) they are nice. You need UEFI and a 64bit OS to properly utilize all the space without sacrificing speed. Common sense says that if you don't have the above software or hardware you don't buy this and complain I've noticed lots of ill-informed people giving this product a bad review due to their old hardware not supporting 3TB drives or having bad performance as a result. Do your homework people, you make the internet full of sad pandas. (see other thoughts)

Overall Review: There are some people out there that do not do the research prior to buying products and then write horrible reviews on products due to the end user being dumber than Derek Zoolander. These drives practically REQUIRE a UEFI bios and 64bit in order to use them properly. Try doing some RESEARCH prior to spending money on a product next time people! Don't dock the hard drive if you can only see 2TB or if using 3TB cuts your performance to nothing as a result! I can't stress this enough. Do your homework before buying these drives. If you can't utilize the space don't buy it! If you can, then go for it! These really are phenomenal drives for a Raid setup, I can't stress this enough. My setup AMD Sabertooth 990FX AMD Phenom II X6 8GB Memory Corsair GT SSD x2 (Raid 0 boot drive) Rocketraid SAS card (4x 3TB drives in Raid 5) ATI 5850 x2 (crossfire)

Pros: I ordered two of these drives at the end of August to go into a brand new external enclosure that I also purchased from Newegg. (Today is October 04, meaning that I have had these drives for about 6 weeks or so.) One of the drives is perfect and works quite well. It is quiet, runs coolly (it is running at 24C at the moment), and fast. The drive partitioned to a max of 2794.39GB. I would certainly recommend these drives.

Cons: The other drive died within two weeks. Hard drive death is not unheard of and these Seagate drives do not seem to have a higher failure rate than other drives. Frankly, anyone who purchases a brand new drive should probably not put unrecoverable data, exclusively on it for the first month. My only real complaint is that I had to pay for return shipping on the RMA, as per Newegg policies ($11.40). While this policy is clearly stated, I am one of the masses who failed to read said policy. Please be aware of this policy.

Overall Review: I am not subtracting any eggs for the dead drive as a dead drive is not a per se indication of poor quality. I have just accepted hard drive failures as being a part of the game. Good luck.

Pros: Drive works beautifully in Windows 7 just make sure you use a GPT Partition to gain access to all available space. If you use XP and you want to use as a boot drive, you may want to take it to a knowledgeable technician.

Cons: Poor support in XP for larger than 2TB drives, not drives fault but kinda pain in the ??

Overall Review: Seagate provides tons of support info on using these drives in XP

Pros: 3TB space! Speed, temperature and noise are all good.

Cons: Older hardware and drivers might need to be updated recognize the full amount of storage.

Overall Review: While my BIOS recognized the 3TB just fine, Windows 7 reported the disk space as ~746.39 GB. I updated my nForce RAID controller driver and everything was fine.

Pros: Works Really fast even beyond spec. well worth the money.
