with the warranty on these drives, would I deal with new egg for replacement, or seagate?

That's a good question.  I think the warranty with Newegg is only for a short period of time.  But I believe Seagate warranties the drive for 1 year or so.  Quite frankly, the drive is so cheap, if it fails (I've had very good success with Seagate drives in my NAS and other applications like on my desktop PC), you could simply buy another one since they are very inexpensive at Newegg anyway.

Is this drive brand new or is it a refurb?

I just received an email response from goHardDrive Inc. They said the drives are OEM "New" with a 3 year warranty through their company. Hope this helps all who were wondering.

The description says 3 year warranty ? The specs say at the bottom 1 year limited warranty.. which is correct ?

Spoke to Seagate Rep - they said 3 year warranty on the product featured on this page. Also, got an email back from goHardDrive Inc., She said the drives are new with 3 year warranty through their company. I think you're in the clear; I was wondering the same thing myself.
