Will this drive work for a PS4 upgrade?

No it will not. PS4s use laptop drives (2.5” SATA). This drive will not physically fit in the PS4 nor does it have a compatible interface.

In short, yes I would feel comfortable using this for DVR but I would probably opt for one of the bigger models. This is assuming your DVR takes SAS hard drive. This is not the normal drive interface you find in PCs. This is used for servers. Technically any hard drive could be used for DVR but they make special purpose drives just for that. Usually they call the surveillance hard drives and they are tuned to be in use 24/7 while most desktop hard drives assume a lower amount of use. But this is not a desktop hard drive nor is it a surveilance hard drive. It is an enterprise SAS hard drive so it's also been tuned to be used 24/7. Yes, I would feel comfortable using it for DVR. Again, make sure your DVR can accept SAS hard drives as opposed to SATA.
