will this drive work with Dell 2900 server?

The specs on the 2900 say it has a SAS integrated controller, but says the connection is SATA 3Gb. My guess is that is a typo and it will support SAS, but at 3Gb a 12Gb drive is overkill. You probably want to get the SATA version of the drive instead. That said, the Seagates have always performed well for me and I have only lost a few of the MANY dozens of these (and larger drives) I have running in systems for customers. Most of the losses were on servers placed in environments where they were not well protected and subjected to an environment that was frequently too warm
