Despite being an enterprise level/commercial server hard drive -- This will work in a standard desktop with Window's 7 OS, correct?  I mean at the end of the day it's just a hard drive with a sata interface, correct?

I bought these as server replacement drives.  Servers have BIOS that has a size limit for hard drives that they support.  One thing that would be a good thing for you to do is see if there is an updated BIOS for your system.  It will allow you to use larger drives than when you bought it.  One problem you may encounter is that Win 7 OS is no longer supported.  This may be a good opportunity for you to upgrade.  Win 10 OS is already approaching its end of life.  Back to your basic question, hard disk drives (HDD) are OS independent, until you format them.  Win 7 OS uses more than one format, so you want to make sure you have the format that you need.  Your OS will probably default to the one you need.  Your second question was that, "It's just a hard drive with a SATA interface?"  Not all HDDs with SATA interface are the same, which is why the physical size (2.5 or 3.5 in.), storage size (6 TB, etc.), spindle speed (7200 rpm, etc.), bus speed (6 Gb/s, etc.), internal cache size, etc. are all specified.  If you buy one faster or larger than your system can handle, the extra is wasted, and a slower one will slow down your whole system.  None of these specs make a difference to what format standard you choose or to the OS.  Hardware specs affect hardware performance, and they are cumulative.  To be rated as enterprise or commercial grade, the specific model has been watched by the manufacturer as it has gone into service in many thousands of always-on servers and has achieved a very low rate of return for warranty service.  That much data is what certifies a model as being more dependable in a very heavy-use environment.  The manufacturer has enough data to back the warranties of this higher level rating and know they won't have to spend extra money replacing them.  They continue to do this in the Quality inspection step.  When they test each drive, they don't all test the same.  If they don't pass a minimum standard, they are scrapped.

Are these 6TB or 8TB Seagate Enterprise HDDs 512n or 512e??? I am using Win 7 Pro 64-bit and I have always used 512n and have been warned not to get internal HDDs that are 512e.... Thanks for any info.

model number, on the Seagate website.   As I recall, that model is
512e.   But don't take my word for it.   Check the Seagate site.
