Would this drive work in my personal pc (windows10)? or are they only for servers?

Short Answer - Yes, this will work fine in a Windows 10 PC.

I would not use this as a boot drive, but you certainly could use it as a data drive.   These drives have a lot of moving parts and even though they are reliable, I would not trust my ONLY copy of any data to a drive like this.

Buying only 1 and keeping a lot of data there is very risky.
Buying 2 and doing mirrored raid (raid 1) gives you some fault tolerance but no backup.
Buying 3 is they way to go, gives you fault tolerance and a backup copy of your data, but now the initial cost outlay looks quite different than just buying 1 drive.

Something to think about.

Can this be used in a desktop?

As long as you have a 3.5" HDD mounting point available, yes.  You may need to add a faster SATA controller to maximize the transfer rate, but it should step down to slower SATA if that's all that is available.

What is the difference between the X16 and X14 version of the Exos drives?

Apart from the amount of storage, I use a DROBO and although I am not entirely happy with DROBO, it ensures a third backup of all my data.  I am very happy with the drives and got a great price at the time for them.  I hope that helps.

Is this a  drive CMR or a SMR?

These are CMR.  Seagate would not use shingled drives for Enterprise use.

Are these covered by Seagate warranty?  I found this page clicking on New Egg from "Where to buy" on the Seagate website.

Are these being sold as OEM drives or as retail drives?

The description says "Bare Drive" which means OEM.   As Newegg has declined to clarify the warrantee on the drive for at least two years, it is safe to say you won't find out without calling them.
