Pros: I have been using this 14TB Ironwolf drive for over a week now and its been flawless. The drive itself feels normal enough, not overly heavy at only 24 ounces. After formatting to NTFS the available storage space is 12.7TB Windows file copy tests show a transfer speed around 230MB/s Write. And about 240MB/s Read speed. Crystal Diskmark benchmarked the drive at 256MB/s Read, 239MB/s Write. The drive is silent and runs cool to the touch.
Cons: No Cons,
Overall Review: It took me awhile to finish my review. My QNAP TS-231P could not use drives larger than 10TB. I had to order a different NAS, A Synology DS218+ So i could test these drives in their intended environment. 24/7 NAS. I own a 8TB Ironwolf Pro ST8000NE0004 and paired these together in my NAS to test raid performance, while they are not identical drives, they are from the same series and support the same raid functions. some features like AcuTrac and RV Sensors, really offer no advantage on small home/business level environments, Those features are for the enterprise environment. For the last two weeks they have been setup in a hybrid raid in my DS218 running the surveillance station. I have 4 cameras recording 24/7 and it has been flawless. Unfortunately network throughput prevents me from accurately benchmarking them together within the NAS, But together within windows i benchmarked these two together and reaching 420MB/s Read Speed, 340MB/s Write Speed. Overall i am very satisfied and happy with these drives.
