Seagate ST3640323AS 640GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Bought as a secondary hard drive. Price to GB ratio. and a 32 mb cache. Quiet enough, runs cool. As a secondary hard drive, I have to keep reminding my self that the extra 600 gb of extra space is now available. Thats what I wanted, no hassle, no fuss, no problems. So far thats what I got.

Cons: None really. Tiny jumper, needed a needle to get it out. The jumper took longer than the install, lol.

Overall Review: ***FOR THE RECORD - OEM means your hard drive will be delivered without a cable, without an install disk or instructions. without screws, without in store packaging...you get the drive, PERIOD. If you want the store package, you want a RETAIL hard drive. I see people giving a lower rating for a product because they apparently don't know what they're buying. I buy from NewEgg cause they're quick and hassle free, and the site has actual REVIEWS from real users of all experience levels. OEM's are cheaper BECAUSE there's nothing extra. Purchase has to provide a cable, you need a program to help install or format or partition , go to manufacturer's website, download section

Pros: fast, large cache, price was right

Overall Review: jumper came set at "limit 1.5" had to remove jumper to set at "full 3.0 operation" little surprised by that. if you forget to set the jumper could slow down the drive. comments?

Pros: Fast, nice cache, and 3.0gbs

Cons: Drive disappears from system and requires power cycle - Reports of data corruption

Overall Review: Many people are starting to have problems with this drive and the 1TB drive. The drives will completely stop communciating with the system and seem to completely disappear. Requiring the power to be cycled for the computer to start recognizing it again. Other users are starting to report data corruption. Check out Seagate's Support Forums before you purchase this drive. Most of the problem drives (640GB) are firmware version SD13. Seagate Support is avoiding the issue.

Pros: Fast, 32Mb Cache, 7200 RPM!

Overall Review: Used this in my new build and I don't have any regrets. First off this hard drive is fast! Scores a 5.9 on WEI in Vista. Also in every online game I play, anytime a new map loads I am the very first person to join the map due to the speed of this hard drive. Seagate also backs this badboy up with a 5 year warranty that's unmatched. I love this hard drive and highly recommend it.

Pros: Fast, Big, 32mb cache. Gets the max Vista rating (5.9)

Cons: Not 10k rpm, but who needs that anyway? If you have 100-200$ to throw away maybe yes, but otherwise this thing rocks.

Pros: Tested max transfer per second of 122.4M and average of 95.5M with 14.8ms burst access time, burst rate of 184.8M. Higher output than my raptor.

Cons: About twice the latency of my raptor.

Overall Review: This is the sweet spot in the hard drive market currently. Three of this drive would make the ultimate RAID 5 configuration.

Pros: Very fast, runs cool, wasn't DOA and I haven't worried about it since I plugged it in. Newegg shipped ultra fast, price was great!

Cons: My drive didn't need a bios update but if you are paraniod you may worry about it. No eggs off for my own paranoia =)

Pros: Higher density platters=fewer platter=less heat. :) 110+Mbps on both drives tested. Makes little noice. (isn't completely quiet can hear it seek 8ft away if I focus.) SATA connection makes wire management 10x easier.

Cons: Wish they were a few dollars cheaper.

Overall Review: This is an OEM drive!!!! Make sure you have a sata motherboard, sata connectors, and that your power supply has sata power connectors. The connectors you can buy adapters for on newegg if need be.
