Seagate's SV35.3 series of drives is the third generation of drives designed specifically for the video surveillance market. They are designed with fewer moving parts and low power consumption to extend the MTBF to an amazing 1,000,000+ hours in a 24/7 operating environment with high write duty cycles.
This 750GB drive has a fast SATA II interface that has been can easily handle multiple input data streams for multi-camera operation. The huge 32MB cache ensures smooth data transfers with minimal bottlenecking. The 7200RPM spindle speed and sub-15ms write-seek time contribute to the drive's exceptional performance.
Designed for Video SurveillanceThe Seagate SV35.3 ST3750330SV hard drive is optimized for recording of multiple, simultaneous video streams. The drive features a low heat-generation design for better performance and higher duty cycles.
ATA-7 Streaming CommandsThe ATA-7 streaming commands enable read/write profiles to be tailored to either video, data or a combination of both, guaranteeing smooth, reliable video streaming as well as high-integrity database updates.
SATA 3.0 Gb/s InterfaceThe Seagate SV35.3 ST3750330SV features the next-generation SATA interface supporting up to 3.0 Gb/s data transfer rates, Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and hot-pluggable point-to-point connections for optimum performance, efficiency, convenience and flexibility.
Pros: The performance of these is better sustained than the others. Large cache. No annoyingly small jumper restricting performance. 5 year warranty. VERY quiet and no issues.
Cons: A little more expensive.
Overall Review: I put two of these in RAID1 and I can barely hear them from a foot away when I'm opening large (100MB+) files. I have the "regular" 750GB Seagates and these are much better. Worth the difference in price.
