Seagate U Series 9 ST3120025ACE 120GB IDE Ultra ATA100 / ATA-6 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive

Pros: Arrived quickly.

Cons: Arrived not working. No utility I had could fix the massive amount of bad sectors. I did manage to create a partition on the "end" of the drive, but it had errors throughout. I have to pay to have this piece of junk shipped back.

Overall Review: Couldn't get NewEgg to give me an RMA with a shipment label. I've done thousands of dollars worth of business here, but I may not going forward.

Pros: Cheap. Worked for a bit.

Cons: I bought 3 of these drives - one is already toast beyond recognition and there is only aa 90 day warranty that I am slightly out of (I knew this when I bought them, but the "recertified" tag gave me some comfort. I tested these the day they came (with Seatools) - they all tested fine. I checked SMART - smart said all of the drives had 30,000+ power on hours (which is the equivalent of 3.5 YEARS). They also had 15,000 power cycles. In other words. I realize they recertified, but at least clear the firmware / SMART dump. I did get them for dirt cheap, though I would most likely not buy them again.

Overall Review: I would suggest looking at a retail drive rather than recertified- I've had pretty good luck with some recert WD Drives, but these just aren't up to par.

Pros: None

Cons: Drive was turning and cliquing like it was stuck, the drive is never detected by the os. Seagate or Newegg shoulg at least test those drive before shipping to a custumer, i don't understand that they would ship a drive that is not basicly tested when the test takes a few minutes.

Cons: dead, I tried to use xp it could not format the drive said the drive may be damaged seatools cannot do anything with it powermax cannot do anything with it will seek a replacement thing is every recertified drive I have ever gotten from Maxtor and seagate were sealed in anti static bag sealed with a seal this one had finger prints and was opened poorly opened at that

Overall Review: just maybe it was not recertified by Seagate and some guy down t in as basement somewhere

Pros: Fast Delivery

Cons: Hard drive was defective. Multiple errors after installation. No warranty from Seagate. Decide a Recertified drive was not for me. Shipping it back to Newegg for refund (using neweggs ups) cost me half what i paid for the drive. I know its not Neweggs fault but still dissapointed. First time I get a defective product from this vendor.

Pros: At Least They Work, But...

Cons: Both Drives fail Seagate's SMART Test Utility, Drive Health on one of the two drives that I bought only shows 54% Health!

Overall Review: I don't know who's Recertifing these Drives, but they better get into another business. No quality control as far as I can see.

Pros: delivers fast

Cons: Hard drive was bad when I got it all installed

Pros: Cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Cons: Drive would not format on XP disc.
