Our Take on the Sigma 18-35mm f/ 1.8
DC HSM Art Lens:
Our Take on Sigma 18-35mm f/ 1.8 DC HSM Art Lens The Sigma 18-35mm f/ 1.8 DC HSM Art Lens distinguishes itself from others, as its zoom furnishes an exceptional bright constant f/ 1.8 maximum aperture. Its aperture is perfect for working in low lighting conditions and also offers greater control over the focus position. The lens is formulated to accomplish truly notable optical performance and is well-suited for innovative and artistic applications. Also, it is a part of the Art line within Sigma's Global Vision series. Furthermore, the lens delivers a 28.8 -56mm equivalent focal length range.

Sigma 18-35mm f/ 1.8 DC HSM Art Lens reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations for improved clarity and color accuracy by deploying five Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements that are featured in its optical design. Apart from this, four aspherical elements are used to help limit distortion and spherical aberrations. These aspherical elements also deliver greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering. Lens flare and ghosting are eliminated by applying a Super Multi-Layer Coating to the lens elements. The coating also contributes to producing contrast-rich and color-neutral imagery, even in backlit conditions.

The Sigma 18-35mm f/ 1.8 DC HSM Art Lens is integrated with HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor), along with an internal focusing system, which produces quick and quiet autofocus. Besides this, it is with an optimized AF algorithm to produce smoother focusing performance. The lens unit also delivers smooth and pleasing bokeh quality by using a rounded nine-blade diaphragm. A Thermally Stable Composite (TSC) material is used in its construction for delivering greater precision and to use in wide temperature variations. A brass bayonet is added to it for providing improved mounting accuracy and rigidity. You can use the lens with an optional Sigma USB Dock as they are compatible and subject its characteristic features to fine-tuning and update its firmware.
