It most likely would be. This is a standard hard drive. As far as I know there are no compatibility issues between the average hard drive and the average PC except for the form factor. That being said, 'desktop' HDDs measure in at 3.5" while laptop hard drives typically measure 2.5".  I would there's a near 100% chance it'll fit, but you can always check the one that's on there first.

Your current drive is a parallel ATA. I believe that connector type is incompatible with SATA.

You will have to erase it using disk utility first. Than it should work just fine. Provided of course the MacBook uses a SATA connection for the hard drive.

I think it's safe to say yes.  But why go so small?  I bought two "TOSHIBA PH2100U-1I54 1TB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drives" for both of my Toshiba Satellites.
