I bought this and I run windows 7 did anyone have to find the drivers? Where did you find them?

You will not need to find drivers. Just make sure that you accept updates from other parties via windows update and your hard drive and controller drivers will be updated. Other than that, your chipset drivers should allow for immediate detection.

What is the manufactures warranty?

Buyer beware, Toshiba doesn't honor their warranties, I was denied replacing a drive that had a 3 year warranty at around the year and a half mark when it failed.  I have a 24 drive RAID system and am dealing with warranty nightmares.

How loud are these drives? And how do they compare to Seagate or Western Digital? I've never used a Toshiba HD before.

I can't hear it at all and that's with all fans on low. I've had Seagate and WD in past and this seems comparable in name so far. Seagates have gone down hill in past few years. I'm using this as a media storage drive for over a year with no issues as of yet.

Will this work in a QNAP 251+? I hear a lot of about spin up time and the RAID controller thinking it is dead because of the response time of non-NAS drives.

i cant tell u for sure, but i have no prob with spin up time i had drive for a year it has no problems. it always responds when called upon no wait unless it goes to sleep to save power i have it set that way .comes alive 1 to 2 sec  tops might be faster i never timed it. hope this helps

curious looked on internet for specs anyone have: power draw ACTIVE IDLE AND SLEEP? as well as number of platters in this drive i am thinking 5x1tb but hoping less as balancing a 5 platter drive at 7200 is ehhh dicey?

1TB platters (5 platters for this model, 10 heads)

I have 3 of these with 2 being about a year old (as of 08-03-2017) and the third one is about 4 months old (as of 08-03-2017). They work fine. They are loud but their speeds are pretty good (150+ MB/s sustained, bursts of 220+ MB/s).
