Yes I believe this came with plastic drywall anchors and a couple screws as well as 4 rubber feet that you can stick on the back/bottom if you want.

I am planning on taking these to china which requires 220v. Does this work for 110v-240v??

The power supply label says:

Input: 120-240V  50/60 cps

Output: 5.0 volts  1.0 amp

You WILL need a plug adapter (a common item) for compatibility with the wall outlet.

Under what circumstances is this switch best used for I have a cable modem and router and printer. I use wifi for the tv and other computers in the house ?

Well if all of your wired devices are in close proximity to the router and it has the required number of LAN ports, you don't need the switch at all. If you are looking to extend your wired network into another room for more than one device a switch is a good way to accomplish that -- or if you simply need to add more LAN ports to your router a switch is a very simple, low cost solution.

Can I use this switch as a wired router, from my cable modem thru is device into my computer ?

This is a basic, and in my experience, perfectly functioning, simple "switch".  It is NOT a router and is not programmable.  That's okay because it has one basic purpose; to make multiple ports available from a single internet or network access point.

I have two of these. I use one at home to provide extra ethernet ports in a room where there's a single ethernet jack.  This way I can take advantage of my gigabit ethernet network on three different devices that all sit in that room. I use the other one at work where I'm on the IT staff of a major university where it's VERY important that a device of this sort NOT INTERFERE with the network.
