does this need a heatsink?

It purely depends on your use. SSDs have a butter-zone of temperature for optimal usage. This is roughly 35-50 degrees Celsius. However, if you hit around 65-80 degree Celsius the cache, controller and eventually the internal pipeline on the NAND may overheat. This will cause the SSD to thermal throttle to prevent issues. Such throttling reduces performance. Heavy random access loads, such as those created by some high resolution open world games with a lot of on-demand texture loading, particularly when the SSD has poor airflow or is in regions of the motherboard with high ambient temperature. The label heat spreader is OK on these, but not as good as the heat sink on the heat sink version. I would recommend the heat sink version over the other versions. Most normal day to day computing and moderate gaming should not require a heat sink. The same goes if you have a case with exceptional airflow. Also, do note that the heat sink doesn't hurt, and it looks nice.

Does this have DRAM cache?

The lack of DRAM may impact performance during heavy tasks.

Will this go into a lenovo laptop without the heatsink?

There is no heat sink on this. So yes.

Is this compatable with a PS-5?

There are positive reports on its compatibility with PS5.
