Has anyone found the noise of the drive when under load to be an issue?

I have had this drive installed in my HTPC, which I utilize almost 100% as a DVR, for four months. The PC sits about 3 feet from the desk in my office. I have never noticed the sound of the drive during normal playback or record operation. You can sometimes hear it spin up after the PC is restarted but only if you listen carefully. The HTPC case does come with rubber dampers so there is minimal vibration transferred to the case.

Will this fit SATA 2 ?

Yes, it is backward compatible with SATA 1 and 2. All three use the same connection.

What is the difference between all these WD Black 4tb drives?

There are two WD Black 4TB  hard drives; WD4003FZEX and WD4001FAEX (See the specs at the Western Didital web site)
The only diffrence in the specs is that the WD4003FZEX has Advanced Format, by my understanding allows for larger sector and better performance.

Yes, but you do need Windows 7 or better and to properly format the drive

Can I use this as a second hard drive for my HPE-440f BM427AAR (which I bought from you)? I need more space and think it would be great to have a 2nd internal drive.

Is there a controller in there that can handle a second drive that size?

I'm currently using this HDD as a secondary HD in my pc, but this question sounds more like it should be asked on the page for your HP machine - if it has additional storage slots and sata ports. The HD can do it, but can the desktop you have support it?

Go for default. Also I do not know if your using NTFS or EXT4 like many linux based Nas use
