Advanced Format Technology - Technology being adopted by WD and other drive manufacturers to increase media format efficiencies, thus enabling larger drive capacities.
Pros: I've been using the WD Scorpio Blue drives for the last couple of years in a price ticketing system for my company. The application is fairly disk intensive, as we ticket about 2000 items per day on each machine. I've been pleased with the performance and reliability with these drives, and the price makes them a good value. I was also pleased with the customer service I received from Action Packaged, Inc., the marketplace seller.
Pros: Quiet. Has been operating continuously since I received it - using it as a replacement drive in an older netbook, which is functioning as a home server (storage, backup, and other minor services). It's been a champ.
Cons: I bought this for a customers computer and it worked great for 4 months then it failed no warning, no chance to back up just dead. WD has a messed up RMA system where you have to pay for postage to return your drive that failed within 4 months. WD need's to try and make customers happy by supplying a quality product and not charging you to send back their defective product.
Pros: Worked.
Cons: Obsolete.
Overall Review: SSD is to affordable not to get nowdays. Anything else is just a waste of money.
