Have no idea, I bought this years ago to upgrade my Xbox 360 HDD without having to pay Microsoft tax for no reason. Not sure why the exact model number would matter.

will this hdd be compatible in my hp pavilion dv 6000? says repl;ace with spare431407-001 it is toshiba mk1234gsx hard drive. i like wd hdd better

Of course it will! As long as you have confirmed that your HP supports a SATA 2.5" HDD and not a IDE 2.5" HDD then you will be just fine. Companies just say stuff like that to promote sales and partnerships of whatever sort they can. Newegg asked me to answer this question for you because I recently purchased this drive - well, I made this purchase because it was super cheap and of decent size and I put it into a 13" white MacBook and it worked like a charm! Apple says to replace with a recommended specific brand as well but at the end of the day, as long as you get the connection type matched up correctly, most computers will support the hdd, regardless of the brand because components are the same. Heck, half the time they are probably assembled with the same parts in the same factory, then labeled for different companies! This will work great for you, just don't get excessive with capacity. I cannot promise you that a computer from 2008 will support a terabyte hard drive. Good luck!

I could not find the answer to this question on the specifications tab for this product on the western digital site; I have opened one other non-functioning drive and there were 4.  but I cannot tell you with any certainty that this drive has the same number.  you might try calling wd customer service and see if they know the answer to this question.  best wishes.
