1 out of 5 eggsNot Worth The Bother

Pros: Once you underclock the card and get the thing to actually work as advertised alls well. At this price point that is not a good thing in my opinion. As stated before it will not support "Nvidia" game settings. Handles generic computer use with no problems and the same with the internet, sites load and transition very well. I sincere, its the best part of the card.

Cons: I guess the fact that I have yet to play one game like COD or Assassins creed (which came with the card) without a crash. I had the added misfortune of needing spine surgery so I stared at my computer parts for a few months before i got to work. First came "PCI" related crashes and that took a couple weeks to learn it was USB 3 and then when all the stars aligned I loaded a game and it crashed In the interim i wasted a whole day on multiple MIRs. Lesson learned the hard way (as they all seem to be) NEVER MIR until you know the part works. I tried calling newegg to swap for replacement card as reviews are saying i should get 100 FPS at 1080p on cod, i'm not connecting to a stream of monitors nor playing 3d at super high resolution . Since I don't have the "barcode chunk" and only have everything else it turned out the box is worthless as is the remainder. So Newegg wownt help to "REPLACE A JUNK CARD" they sold. I only did a new build and got like 20 boxes. I called Asus and they did not disappoint. They will replace the card for a used one. I just purchased an asrock board because of the "help" they offered back then, sent me a MOBO that had a massive 2" squared what looked like toothpaste all over tons of leads and circuits and explanation was the p6t was no longer in production. Well at least he had a sliver of a point as it was over 3 yrs after the purchase but then id imagine you replace for something comparable and id pay the difference. In the end i mailed them back their garbage board and purchased a new one.
The beauty of it is Asrock tech support is more worthless then Asus because they cant speak english if their life depended on it and DONT ask for another rep because he will be WORST no joke had to hang up it was that bad. Thank heaven for internet and knowledgeable ppl otherwise id still have that error. Thus ive gotten to the point where i will no build another computer i will buy it and i'll leave the headaches behind.
i've only spent around $500 on a single GPU to go through this headache and under 200 for the extreme6. But dont despair, the caring/educated and linguistically unchallenged have move to Corsair and still there at EVGA. "you have a problem with your board we need your CC # as collateral and sending you a replacement now" all it took. Lastly, ppl need to stop complaining about petty stuff. "yeah i got my board in today it was cracked from transit i called the co told them about and they sent out replacement next day" and they rate a co with one star. Stuff happens no co makes 100% perfect stuff this fall etc. if they address your issue ASAP they its a 5 not a 1. If they tell u sorry ur missing an inch off the box we can help or send you a used replacement and your worst off then when you started.

Other Thoughts: I told the story to my brother who works IT for some CO and usually hes worthless and lazy tells me to google it, this time he came through.
The solution is to slow your card and UNDERCLOCK your $500 GPU to get it to run. With that logic I could of saved myself $1000+ and just gotten meger avg parts like a $50 HD not SSD or cooling or i7, just spend $400 on a build and you'll sleep well because it makes you free to pull out the malfunctioning part and beat it with a bat and order a new one.
All i can do is hope i dont find "toothpaste" on the replacement, who knows what that paste was.
All jokes aside i dont recommend this board.

2 out of 5 eggsFast and broken

Pros: I have not yet seen any game or benchmark which this card renders under 60 fps. So the performance is great.

Cons: I need to figure out how to RMA to Asus, because the card causes random system crashes when under moderate load. Sometimes they occur after a few minutes of gameplay, and sometimes it's after a few hours. I know that the driver is not an issue; it happens in both Windows and Ubuntu, and all of my other components work together without the card while playing games.

Other Thoughts: unreliable product

2 out of 5 eggsLove it when it works

Pros: Can Run almost any game I throw at it on ultra at 1080p

Cons: Causes my computer to crash when I start up any form of game that is remotely intensive. Always without fail DayZ causes my rig to crash

Other Thoughts: great when it works sucks when it doesn't

3 out of 5 eggsKeep crushing when play World of Warcraft

Pros: Quiet and cool when not playing game.

Easily handle the games I played at 3440 x 1440 resolution, like Call of Duty, Dragon Age, LOL, etc.

Cons: Keep crashing and reboot when I play World of Warcraft. Crash after few seconds I logged into the game.

At beginning I thought it is too hot , so I turned the fan speed to 100%, still crash. Then I tried different drivers, still crash. Tried my old DELL U2410 @ 1920X1200, still crash.

My old (2) 560ti SLI have no problem when play World of Warcraft.

Other Thoughts: Maybe I need try different PSU or other CPU or motherboard combo to find out it's the video card's problem or other hardware's problem.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst support ever

Pros: Good cooling, quiet, good performance (see cons, it fails on high quality)

Cons: Stops working on any near-max settings. Can't even support the NVidia-provided recommended settings. System just crashes. And it's a known problem. ASUS forums are filled with this. The card is very, very buggy.

You may just pray that your instance will have no problems, but that's pure luck. And if you're not that lucky - well, welcome the hell.

ASUS support is TERRIBLE. There no word in the modern language to describe all the crapfulness of ASUS support.

It takes months for them to actually do anything. Lots of your time and nerves and no result. I have actually never seen such low quality of support in my life before I've contacted ASUS.

Never ever buy anything from them. Really. I warned you =)

Buy any other card, from any other manufacturer, but not ASUS. It's TWO MONTHS (already, and still going) that it takes them to replace my item.

It's 4 (yes, FOUR) RMA cases their support guys have created and their replacement dept still can't process. It will take hours, even days of your life to chat with ASUS support and huge amount of absolutely unnecessary actions.

I have never imagined that there could be such level of support at any still alive manufacturer.

Update - I have the problem with their PCE-AC68 network card - and it's the very same infinite replacement process. I've just skipped that and returned an item to the retailer directly, cause I was not going for the same nightmare again.

P.S. If you still want to give it a try - buy any ASUS items only from retailers that have good return policy that will free you from necessity to talk to ASUS support. Sadly, Newegg doesn't.

4 out of 5 eggsFast but not rock solid

Pros: Easy Overclocking possibility.
Excellent Design
Quit
Fast enough to play anything @ full settings

Cons: RMA'd in less then 3 months. Battlefield 4 started artifacting and gradually got worse over a 2 day period.

Other Thoughts: I'm still waiting on the replacement. Ive been a ASUS customer for a long time. This is the first piece of hardware I've had to send back. Depending on the turn around time for the replacement will determine weather I continue to be a Asus costumer in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card

Pros: This card runs DCS at highest setting including render distance with 60fps no problems. That same goes for Far Cry 4 and Arma 3. Id buy this again in a heart beat.

Cons: None thus far

5 out of 5 eggsTime to Retire Ol'e Bessie

Pros: One of the fastest, and best quality video cards on the market. Solid construction, especially since adding the metal backplate that removes any possible flexing and protects the circuit board from dust/small particles. I have always taken a conservative approach to "breaking in" a new video card, never do I overclock, or run 3D benchmark tests on a brand new video card. The electronics take a week or more to burn-in. Best to allow for this break-in period, you will be rewarded later with a longer lasting card.

Cons: Long in length, so make sure your case has the clearance. Does use more power than the "regular" version of this card, but it is well worth the money. Not sure exactly how another reviewer ran this card by under-clocking it to achieve some magical frame-rate he though was acceptable, but why in anybody's mind would you ever connect ALL the ports on the back to monitors, then say the video card won't perform to standards?.......in reality no customer would ever have a need to do this ridiculous test.

Other Thoughts: Would you go out and buy a new car, then run the devil out of it on the highway, just to see if it could reach the max on the speedo? No one in their right mind would do this, even if they worked for a car company as a tech, as one of the reviewers has stated. Besides, the car dealer won't allow you to return the car, especially after you ran the heck out of it on the highway just to test the 3D marks, would they?
