5 out of 5 eggsInsane

Pros: Insanely fast, cool, and quiet

Cons: Big, make sure you can fit it in your case before you buy. I didn't run into this problem, but I could barley fit it in

5 out of 5 eggsTime to Retire Ol'e Bessie

Pros: One of the fastest, and best quality video cards on the market. Solid construction, especially since adding the metal backplate that removes any possible flexing and protects the circuit board from dust/small particles. I have always taken a conservative approach to "breaking in" a new video card, never do I overclock, or run 3D benchmark tests on a brand new video card. The electronics take a week or more to burn-in. Best to allow for this break-in period, you will be rewarded later with a longer lasting card.

Cons: Long in length, so make sure your case has the clearance. Does use more power than the "regular" version of this card, but it is well worth the money. Not sure exactly how another reviewer ran this card by under-clocking it to achieve some magical frame-rate he though was acceptable, but why in anybody's mind would you ever connect ALL the ports on the back to monitors, then say the video card won't perform to standards?.......in reality no customer would ever have a need to do this ridiculous test.

Other Thoughts: Would you go out and buy a new car, then run the devil out of it on the highway, just to see if it could reach the max on the speedo? No one in their right mind would do this, even if they worked for a car company as a tech, as one of the reviewers has stated. Besides, the car dealer won't allow you to return the car, especially after you ran the heck out of it on the highway just to test the 3D marks, would they?

5 out of 5 eggsA 780 ti for $410

Pros: I picked this up while I was looking into getting a gtx 980 to replace my 4g 760 only to find out that they were out of stock almost everywhere. This card however, was insanely cheap for a 780 ti and I couldn't pass it up. It blew my old card out of the water. The backplate was a very nice addition and the stickers, though I don't see why they didn't include blue, tied the card together with my black and red build. Overall this is a very high quality card that stays quite cool and handles all my games at 1440p and is almost overkill at 1080

Cons: Only 3gb of vram, limiting it in the future. It also doesn't have much headroom for overclocking and I prefer to use msi afterburner or evga precision x over the included software

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very fast, very quiet and stays pretty cool.

Cons: Power hungry and the card is very long.

Other Thoughts: Picked this up for $409 about 2 weeks ago. Was looking at the 980 but they were always out of stock for the models I wanted then I saw this on sale. Its not a 980 but it was a big upgrade coming from a single 660TI anyway and was about $200 cheaper.

Had to remove a hard drive tray so it would fit in my case. It kind of worked out for the best since now one of the 120mm fans on the front of my case has no obstructions. It send nice cool air right to the card.

3 out of 5 eggscard is fast. had to send back both for RMA

Pros: side note: i dontk now how people put their tech level at a 5 then post something like."doesnt work" "sucks never buy asus again" if your a tech level 5 you know better. take the one star reviews lightly as they are usually angry people. im a tech for a large car company(one that everyone knows) and I consider myself a 4 because there are some people that would destroy me on tech level.very fast card. one of these beat both my 660Ti's in SLI on 3d Mark scores. i run 4 1920x1200 monitors in Nvidia surround with accessory monitor. comes with Gold and or Red color highlights as (metalic) stickers so apply as you would like. they stay cool and quiet unless your running stress testing which they will heat up and get louder but they stay under 70 degrees all the time(unless you set manual fan speed to low and forget about it during your testing and they throttle all the way down because they hit 85c.<_< ..... >_>..) (the awesome stuff is actually function material as well. thats a bonus.

Cons: let me say the two cards i received were one after another in production (serial numbers example 123 and 124) card 123: plugged in all monitors to test card. had issues displaying through display port and HDMI (video artifacting from both ports) i re plugged in the Display port and it worked, replugged in the HDMI port and it became Dead no signal to my monitor. i disabled my other monitors and ran Benchmarks from 3d Mark. to my surprise it passed the tests and i over clocked a little to test the top end of the card before failing. RESULT: RMA...... card worked great just had a dead HDMI and issues on Display port. can have that on a 4 monitor setup. card 124: all ports worked fine. no issues there. when onto individual benchmark. card would not pass with out of box settings from asus. had to underclock it to lowest gpu clock speed and a lower memory speed to get it to pass. results were about 10-15% lower than the card with the bad HDMI port. cannot have that happening on a card that is supposed to hit a certain clock speed out of box. escpecially when im going to be running in sli when it will bottleneck the faster card. making my graphics processing 10-15% (maybe more) less than i would with a card the hits specifications stated. i feel this may have been because there was a few in production that had gotten build on bad boards or something as i received two bad cards and they were next to each other on the build line. RESULT: RMA

Other Thoughts: i bet once i get two cards that work and hit specifications stated by Asus, these will be great cards and will dominate all my games. its just to bad i had spend hours upon hours trouble shooting my system to figure out i ended up with to bad boards. very unfortunate. not sure how asus quality control let both of these cards get through.my guess is they just dont have a standard to test all ports and test clock speeds on every card. they probably just turn em on with a DVI and if it works hey send it out. which i understand because theres probably like a million cards coming through QA. but still this could be prevented by adding a few testing measures into the process. Thanks for reading

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost flawless, poorly executed.

Pros: Beast card, runs everything 60+, even in benchmarks

Cons: The GPU Tweak is awful, as a matter of fact it is the reason why most people experience the BSOD crash.

Other Thoughts: After I experienced the issue most of the 1 star reviews threw up, I frantically began troubleshooting to find out what in the world was causing the issue. Speed? Underpowering? Heat? Then I remember this card came pre overclocked. I downloaded the GPU Tweak and completely got rid of any and all overclocking, and put the GPU Boost Clock all the way to it's lowest settings and the memory clock all the way to lowest settings. This 100% fixed my issue, not a single crash after. Pretty upsetting as the card is boasted on it's overclocking abilities, but they are pretty garbage.

ANYONE WHO IS HAVING THE BSOD ISSUE, TURN DOWN THE CLOCK SETTINGS AND SEE IF IT WORKS!! CHEERS!

5 out of 5 eggsThis is so awesome!!!

Pros: What an amazing card this is! It is very fast and quiet, takes all the newest games to max level with no problem at all! Definitely best choice ive made!

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When I first got the card i was scared that it wasn't going to fit in my machine because it is a bigger card than my old one, but i still have plenty of room, so just make sure that you calculate the space in your machine when purchasing this!

4 out of 5 eggsAMAZING!

Pros: Quiet
cool (74C under load on auto / 60C under load 100% fan speed)
AWESOME OCer
looks amazing

Cons: Power hungry!
big!
voltage locked
requires 2 8 pins

Other Thoughts: So the first one i ordered was a dud, it made my system crash 24/7 under gaming load. i RMAed it with newegg for a new one and this one runs amazing! If you are getting crashing problems, dont use the same cable from you psu with both a 6 and 8 pin, use 2 seperate cables with both 8 pins

5 out of 5 eggsDon't let the 1 stars fool you

Pros: Surprisingly quiet cooling system. Big, heavy, durable construction. Even has safety covers over the connectors to protect the leads.

Cons: No power cable adapters so be sure you have 2 free 8 pin PCI-e power connectors on your PSU (not the 8 pin CPU connector, they are keyed differently) You may consider adding a 4 pin molex to 8 pin PCI-e power adapter if you have some unused 4 pin molex power connectors.

Other Thoughts: This is a great card with specs comparable to the newest 970 and entry level 980 cards. Sometimes the driver software can be flaky and cause glitches, and often a lacking PSU will cause odd system crashes or reboots. While the card does have a decent amperage draw that does make my power supply hate me, I know enough to blame the component at fault. I have never had an unhappy or unresolved issue with Asus Technical Support, and this is the first video card from them that I have purchased, replacing an EVGA 560Ti that finally overheated and failed.
