3 out of 5 eggsGood GPU When It Works - RMA Requested

Pros: Very few Pros at this point because I have only had problems with this video card from day one. I will update the Pros once Asus replaces this apparent defective GPU via their RMA process.

Cons: In all honesty, you don't get as much bang for your buck with the GTX 780Ti than as you would with the GTX 770. Once you start to spend more than $400 on a video card, the performance per dollar ratio really starts to drop dramatically.

Other Thoughts: If you can afford to spend $700 on a video card, the GTX 780Ti is definitely a step up from the GTX 770.

Update: I had to RMA this video card. Apparently, I have learned that there is a manufacturing defect with the 780Ti "OC Editions" that cause the computer to randomly crash due to an error with the OCP/OVP protection of the card.

I do not recommend you purchase this GPU at this point.

1 out of 5 eggsNot functional

Pros: I'm sure other versions are great

Cons: The card technically works on low-end games but does not on games with high-end graphics including Watch Dogs which it came with. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but the system still crashes when a load newer games.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I do apologize that you are currently having issues with your GPU. Does the card overheat and do you ever see any artifacts, or does it just simply crash to desktop? Please contact me through email and I would be happy to assist you. In addition, please provide me with what troubleshooting steps you have tried so far including your reference number within the subject line, as well as the complete parts list you are using and we can discuss this case further. Thank you. Cs#N140711780

5 out of 5 eggsEpic

Pros: Good amount of ram, plenty of power for just about any gaming you want to do on the computer.

Cons: Price, on the large side for a gpu, but thats more of a preference.

1 out of 5 eggsQuiet card

Pros: Its very quiet and from what games i have been able to play it is very powerful.

Cons: For the past 2 days i have been playing the card repeatedly goes to 99% usage and then crashes my rig and reboots i have tried a fresh install of the newest drivers still having the same problems. Even on games that are not demanding the problem still occurs i have tried my on-board graphics and everything runs fine so i will be contacting support to get an RMA started.

Other Thoughts: I cant tell how good of a card this is but for paying over 700 for this card just for it to keep crashing my everytime i launch a game is ridicules if it wasn't for this issue it would give it a 5 rating because of its potential. on another note i never received my Watchdogs code with it either which is disappointing.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Card just not working.

Pros: With just the GPU boost 2.0 this cards get to a 1250mhz on the clock with is great for someone who does not want to deal with anything.

Cons: Card keeps crashing computer. Everytime i start up a game like Arma 3 or black flag about a min into the game the screen will go black, fan will go to 100% and disoriented game sounds. Changing drivers, multiple rigs to test, and fine temps i have no idea why it is doing it. Put in my gtx 760 and it works just fine so i have no idea. Will Attempt an RMA, and if i find any problems with the customer support or get the same card sent back they can keep it because ill just go with a 290x non asus version.

Other Thoughts: Sorry for the vent but 700 dollars for a cards and this is a little annoying. Plus my box only had the red metal stickers so i was not able to choose my color.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

Thank you for your review.

Try removing any of the previous drivers installed and download the latest drivers. Once finished, the problem should be resolved. If you need any assistance in this matter, please let me know through email. 3684147.

1 out of 5 eggsInconsistent running

Pros: It runs cool.

Cons: It is very inconsistent. it runs great for a bit and then drops off. Using the GPU Tweak, I can watch it running at 96-97% GPU Usage for a minute or so and then it drops to 0% for several seconds. I first wondered if it was overheating and throttling, but the temperature shows 73c while the GPU Temperature Target is 82c, so it shouldn't be throttling. Yet that is what its acting like. I have a different GTX780 Ti that runs hotter, but never stumbles like this, so plan to ask for a RMA.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings Fred K,

Thank you for taking your time to update us regarding your ASUS purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsA Little Better Then EVGA

Pros: This card rocks. Running the 331.82 Driver with super performance, and out does other cards in the same price bracket also works good with the 332.21 Driver

Cons: Absolutely none

Other Thoughts: Card also works fine with newer drives. But for my games and my 3dmark scores the 331.82 is my choice. I have this Card on the new ASUS X79 Deluxe M/B so Buy it you can't go wrong Regards moparbjt

2 out of 5 eggsAmazing Card. Unfortunate RMA

Pros: Let me just say, that even with a defective card I was still able to get Titanfall to 80+ constant frames. But It would crash my system and reboot.

Cons: Sadly, got one in the bad batch. So Im stuck with my 660 for at least another couple days.

Other Thoughts: I cant speak to it's greatness fully yet. So, when the replacement comes in Ill be sure to re-review.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

I am sorry that you are having issues with the display card. From my experience, I have not seen many issues with the unit. That said, what exactly is happening to the card? When you have the time, please get in contact with me through email, including this requested information. Thank you. 3684223.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING CARD!!! Crazy overclocks!

Pros: Crazy fast overclocks!!!

Hotwire and the ability to easily volt mod.

Very silent top quality heatsink!

Cons: NONE!

Why does Newegg allow people to post more than one review for the same product? No doubt other companies are posting them to destroy this product's rating.

Other Thoughts: Asus non-reference cards are hands down top tier when it comes to overclocking. I had a set of 770s in sli for just over a year. I recently upgraded to two of these and am adding two ek blocks.

If you are a true enthusiast, these cards are on your list for consideration. Look at LN2 message boards.. this card is insanely fast with upgraded cooling! I cannot wait to get these bad boys volt modded and under water!
