4 out of 5 eggsIt's a CPU

Pros: Pros? It handles calculations
It's stable!

Cons: It has a rubbish GPU embedded inside it. I'd rather get the chip for a few bucks less without the GPU, if I could.

3 out of 5 eggsIt's a CPU

Pros: It's a CPU! It does CPU stuff!

Cons: It has a rubbish GPU built in that's mostly useless. I'd happily have the CPU without the GPU and save $3 off the total.

Other Thoughts: Intel, seriously, knock it off with adding a poor GPU to your chips!

4 out of 5 eggsLow cost, Good Performance

Pros: So I bought this chip to see what kind of conditions I can throw at it before it cries. So what I have found is that for a low cost processor, this would be great for people who are just using their computer doing Microsoft Office work and Internet surfing. Listening to music is fine as well. Then I threw HD movies at it in both 720 and 1080 and it worked. Though the processor with both cores running got about 40% of workload, the chip did the playback flawlessly

Cons: I have not tested out how well the chip handles high end gaming, a follow up report on this in the future so this is not a con.

Other Thoughts: Some things to consider though, don't expect to buy this chip to run your HD movies and then find out you have buffering problems. One fact still remains that affect this, your LAN and settings. If you are using 100Mbps LAN then it is not the chips fault for poor playback. Blu-ray HD runs around 16-30MB (or 160-300Mbps, roughly) so using a 100Mbps LAN at home is just a huge bottleneck. But also, this can happen on a 1000Mbps (1Gbps) LAN as well. It has to do with the settings of the LAN

Go in to the properties of the LAN and look for "Jumbo Frame" or "Jumbo Framerates" Typical default is like 1500, you want the maximum which should be around 9000 or 9K. That will also help in the smooth playback

So other than that, the chip plays back HD movies in both 720 and 1080, the only thing I kept my eye on was the CPU usage; hitting around 40%. Is that a deal breaker, no. But you may want to invest in a better CPU cooler than the stock one you get with this one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little CPU

Pros: The CPU runs great and is priced accordingly. I have had no issues. Anyone looking to build a good budget system would find this Pentium a worth while addition to the system.

Cons: The Pentium name.

Other Thoughts: Anyone that does the research and understands the differences between the Pentium and I3 Sandy Bridge CPUs will be happy with this. For the people that are still trying to figure it out there is only a few differences. The I3-2100 supports Hyper-Threading and has better/more graphics options.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME

Pros: It works like a charm comes with a good fan and lets you run your computer without a graphics card. :)

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Awesome in general. :)
