5 out of 5 eggsImpressed!

Pros: Very low idle power!
Works great a media center client using Plex on the backend!
Low 54W TDP means I can use a fanless chassis (next upgrade!).

Cons: Not really a con as you know before you buy it; but, it's a celeron. Doesn't have the muscle for encoding (BUT, see other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: Must faster than you think. Gone are the old days of Celerons. This sucker runs circles around my old LGA775 quad core machine. Must be the memory and bus, but wow!

Originally purchased two for two bitcoin mining rigs. After I sold the GPUs, I had a Asrock BTC H81 and this CPU just sitting as no one wants a mobo like that for gaming. I turned it into a media center and WOW... What an inexpensive combo!

Even ripping Blu-rays is, well slow, but not too slow. It does that and still is able to play as a Plex client without a hiccup. 5 stars++

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Low cost, fairly low wattage basic dual core CPU. Replaced an old C2D E4300. Used mostly as an HTPC with some moderate gaming. More CPU than needed for most tasks, and except for the most demanding games with a high end videocard, is adequate. Produces little heat underload even with stock heatsink/grease.

Cons: No hyperthreading, integrated graphics are weak. Doesn't support newer advanced features like vPro or VT-d but if you need those your budget is probably high enough to afford something that does.

Other Thoughts: With the price of this CPU so low for its performance, I don't know why someone would get anything else unless they absolutely needed the advanced features or high core count of a more expensive CPU

4 out of 5 eggsGood CPU, but fan wires tangled

Pros: Gives most of the speed of an i3 at less than half the price

Cons: The wires for the fan were pulled so tightly that they jammed against a fan blade and prevented rotation, a very obvious defect that should have never passed quality control. I loosened the wires before using the CPU, but I'm afraid some people will break them if they try this because 1 of the 3 hooks holding the wires in place is rather tight. The others are too loose.

Other Thoughts: There are only 3 plastic hooks around the fan to hold the wires in place, and you may want to better secure the wires to the fan frame with small nylon wire ties or string.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Well Behaved

Pros: Ran on first power-up and hasn't blinked yet.

Cons: None to date

Other Thoughts: First Windows 8.1 build:
Asus H81M-K
O/S disk - Samsung SSD Pro, 128G
G-Skill 12,800 - 4G
Boots in about 15 seconds, shuts down in 5.
Passmark score: 1654
Draws 28W out of the wall (when running Chrome).

Not a gamer, so this has all the compute power I'm likely to need. Video looks fine, apps come up quickly. Excellent choice for a general purpose computer.
I know it's not just the CPU, but USB-3 is really fast!

4 out of 5 eggsHey...

Pros: Easy Windows 8 Solution. Great for most office apps. Good for light gaming.

Cons: While it can hold it's own vs most CPU's. Even a few of the ones above its price. ( And that really is a PRO ) I thought there would be or snap to it. Like what I'm used to when getting into a new CPU architecture.

Other Thoughts: I'm re-building a MAME pc cabinet...I bought this before any real reviews were out. No real benchmarks or videos or really much of anything on it. Heck there weren't even pics of the box on newegg or anywhere But I was like well maybe..just maybe I'm the only one...I'm the only who is going to find the PERFECT PC arcade solution..And you know what? it would be if I were just running MAME....and this IS a CELERON. Okay so why 4 out of 5 eggs? Because I'm Greedy and I want more than I pay for...A lot more; so if you want 5 eggs from me; I need to feel like I stole something ;). Where my disappointment started was trying Mortal Kombat Komplete edition on this little guy with no PCI graphics help, just Intel HD Graphics vs pretty much describe frame rate and graphics options...But after throwing in a ATI HD 4770 this runs the same game (after a while to load) at full settings. Now to also be fair I do have a 7200 spinner drive as the main OS disk and have yet to put it all on a SSD, but that was never a plan to begin with as a PC arcade has way to many files to eat up expensive SSD real estate. Overall I may keep this setup and I think it would still be quite a great PC arcade cab, but I will probably get a stronger CPU because bottlenecking ( which most wont even notice ) Drives me crazy.
