Pros: Great looking specs

Cons: Only worked as a slave drive

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace a failed boot drive in a friends older Vaio PCV-RX540. The Motherboard would not see this drive at all unless I set the jumper to slave. After several hours of tinkering, I was able to get Windows installed and booting from the slave - but if we ever wanted to install a second drive, it would take some work mirroring this drive to another... not worth the extra work. I connected 2 other Western Digital drives as master without this drive in place, and they were both seen without any effort, one being an older 60GB Caviar, the other a 120GB Caviar. I'm not sure what is different about this one, but several other reviewers seem to have the same trouble with this drive.

Pros: Would have done the job in repairing an older machine, but didn't work out of the box.

Great Drive

Pros: Great Drive. Very Stable. Good price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Used in office computers mainly for OS. real files are stored on servers. For the guy that can't format. Check jumper settings. If this is a single drive, pull the jumper out. Do not set as master for a single drive. This is a common mistake with WD that has caught me a few times.
