5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal, great performance & encryption

Pros: I wanted upgrade my ThinkPad laptop to a larger drive. I also needed a self encrypting drive. After cloning the drive I can report after over 6 months I highly recommend this drive. A laptop with out hard disk encryption is a very big risk when you travel. The drive's encryption password worked perfectly with the laptop's BIOS.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This is not a con per se: This drive will not fit in some of the newest lite-weight ThinkPad laptops (430s); Look for a slim line HDD or SSD. I am not sure about other brands of laptops.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: Works as advertised. No errors, glitches or funny stuff so far.

Cons: Not as fast as I hoped. I guess the doubling of the cash (from 8MB to 16) and the faster spin rate (from 5400 to 7200rpm) are not enough to make huge difference from my previous Momentus HDD.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Deal

Pros: 7200 RPM
750GB
Price

Cons: none really...

Other Thoughts: Good drive overall... decent price for what you're getting... 7200RPM, 750GB... it's affordable and it works as intended... I think having little to say about a hard drive is the best compliment you can give it...

I bought to install in my PS3... just wanna confirm that it works perfectly in a PS3... in case someone was wondering...

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy!!

Pros: Decent price for the format.

Cons: I have had two of these fair completely. The first one was still under warranty and was RMA'd without issues. The replacement RMA drive failed just 29 days later!!!

Other Thoughts: I used to praise Seagate for quality and low failure rates. Unfortunately the trend over the last year has been bad. I've had to RMA 6 drives this year alone.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: works as intended

Cons: none at this time, will post if anything bad happens

Other Thoughts: Im currently using this in my PS3 fat, the original 80gb HDD was a just too slow and I was tired of unistalling everytime I got a new game. Should of done this a long time ago, my PS3 does everything faster now. Ive read reviews on how a 7200rpm HDD makes no difference, but it does. Those ppeps probably only tried it for a day and never went back. I also got a SSD and tried it on my PS3 but it only had a slight advantage over this HDD, PS3 just cant use the full potential of a SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: High storage for fast speed. The highest storage you can get right now for a great speed on a laptop is a 7200 RPM 750 GB hard drive. Only way to go faster on a laptop is get a "ssd". But a "ssd" will not have as much space considering that the largest one for a decent price is a 500 GB. I can say this hard drive is great considering I had it for over a year till I bought another one.

Cons: No cons on this hard drive it absolutely rocks!

Other Thoughts: I bought the same hard drive to raid 0 on.( look up raid on Wikipedia if your not familiar with raid) so I ended up with 1.3 TB of memory. Witch is great for gaming with steam. And if you have a ton of games.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little drive!

Pros: This drive employs single platter technology with AF (Advanced Format), which means data density is high and speed increases accordingly. 7200 RPM, 16MB cache. Runs cool, and silent. No vibrations that I noticed. Replaced an aging WD Scorpio Black 320GB drive in a older Core2Duo notebook PC. The Scorpio Black, per ATTO, did not exceed 89 MB/s sequential read or write. This Seagate hangs around 114 MB/s sequential read/write maximum and ramped up at 16KB file sizes. This is on a 3 Gbp/s SATA II interface via the Intel GM965 Express chipset.

Cons: Would love to have seen a 1TB version, but neither Seagate nor WD offer one. My guess is platter density versus 7200 RPM spindle speed in the 2.5" form factor is not perfected in the 1TB capacity yet.

Other Thoughts: Purchased this drive on a $20 off promo code; so I spent only $69. Great buy, and great drive. Could not be much happier.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat little drive-super fast in laptop

Pros: Thin enough for most laptop installs with no issues. 7200RPM speed is a plus with a nice 16MB cache. Uses less wattage than the drive it replaces so battery life should be better. Boot time is greatly reduced. The only thing faster is an SSD.

Cons: A little noisier than the drive it replaced, but not as noisey has some of the 7200RPM laptop drives I've had.

Other Thoughts: Had to get this in a hurry for a drive that was dying in my daughter's Acer laptop. Got the old drive cloned onto this drive and put in and it's almost a new laptop. Much faster boot times, much faster searches, but a little noisier. I will keep a close eye on it for issues using SeaTools. At least if it has a problem, I know Seagate has a good warranty program.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat in PVR

Pros: Super quiet and low powered compared to a 3.5" desktop drive

Cons: "only" 750GB, not 1TB

Other Thoughts: I'm using this in a SATA enclosure with my Pace 758D HD PVR terminal. PVRs are notorious for always staying on so it was time for a change for quiet.
