3 out of 5 eggsNote Height!

Pros: Seems like a high quality drive, very high MTBF.

Cons: Not for laptops! Twice as tall as a normal internal laptop hard drive.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid dependable drives

Pros: Spin up fast, fast access times, excellent density for the size. I have been using these (8 so far) in ESXi servers for over 3 years, I have never had a failure. 4 of these have replaced "laptop" hard drives during that timeframe. Very happy with these. They are proving well worth the money (you get what you pay for is true here, higher quality components), these are after all Enterprise-class HDDs.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: These will NOT fit in a laptop, they are 15mm high, which is thicker than a standard 12.5mm laptop HDD slot. They however fit perfectly in any server-class 2.5" HDD hot-swap chassis' out there.

5 out of 5 eggsToo thick, not compatible for Lenovo Thinkpad Ultrabay

Pros: I'm sure this is a great drive, the specs are awesome.

Cons: This drive won't spin up in my lenovo ultrabay and it's so think it doesn't fit without applying an uncomfortable amount of force.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat in an array

Pros: In comparison to a similar 3.5" drive:
Very quiet
Low power
Rapid acceleration from rest
Excellent volumetric density

Cons: May be tall for some users

Other Thoughts: I've been using these drives in a SNT-SAS425, which converts a standard 5.25" bay into four hot-swappable 2.5" bays (Awesome!), for just under a year now. I had a large RAID 5 array of 1TB disks that I'd had for a while and didn't want to go through the expense of changing all the disks to larger ones but needed more storage space and was out of room for 3.5" drives. My case has 6 5.25" bays, though, so using the nifty adapter mentioned above, I was able to add many more slots for extra disks. This drive meant that I could continue adding 1TB disks to my array without replacing all of my existing drives.

I've been very happy with the performance of the drive so far, and my only complaint would be that after the flood in Thailand or whatever last fall, the price on these drives still hasn't come back down to what it was prior to that - bummer.

If you're looking to put together a RAID array in a compact space, the combo of the SNT-SAS425 (and similar) with these drives is hard to b

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Drive For Web Server

Pros: Fits in almost ALL newer servers, especially my HP DL360. I purchased two of these drives to run in Raid1 from my HP P400i Hardware Raid to provide large file storage to three separate VMs. They work precisely as intended and use less power than stated.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: To the folks that are expecting this drive to fit in their laptop: Just read the manual. This is an enterprise drive for use in Servers and Desktop Environments that require large storage in a small(er) form-factor and lower current consumption.

4 out of 5 eggsStill not sure!

Pros: Bought this 'third' drive to add to a RAID pair as a spare.

I now have three of these 2.5inch drives installed in an HP ML370 server platform, used as a home PC. Twice when I didn't have the spare, I encountered data loss while making configuration changes on another SAS adapter, not the HP P400 adapter these are attached to.

Since I added the spare, I haven't experienced any problems, and I have been making other system changes.

It seems like a solid performer, and certainly has the weight of an enterprise class drive. Heat doesn't seem to be much of a problem either.

Cons: None that I am aware of.

Other Thoughts: These three drives, RAID pair and spare, are my system OS drives. I require them to run flawlessly.

5 out of 5 eggsEnterprise Class Drive

Pros: Awesome

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Reading is fundamental people, seriously. This info came right here on Newegg, on the Features tab for this drive. It clearly states enterprise class drive, as well as 15mm z-height.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Enterprise Drive

Pros: This is a great drive to use in newer high-density servers. It's fast, efficient, and the price-point terrific.

Cons: Will not fit in most laptops

4 out of 5 eggsnice piece of tech

Pros: huge capacity, fast

Cons: requires 12v power supply, LARGER in thickness than most 2.5" drives (almost double the size), gets quite hot as you might imagine

Other Thoughts: doesn't quite work for my purposes sadly, but there's hope yet! anybody know if this drive will fit in a 2.5"/3.5" docking station?

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice - for a server

Pros: Big, small form factor, mounted in a 3.5" adapter airflow is really good around these smaller drives.

Cons: None that I saw.

Other Thoughts: This is a CONSTELLATION drive, not meant for laptops at all. It also runs way to hot to be sitting in a laptop as well.
