No, it does not.  This is just a bare drive and you will need to have on hand or purchase any mounting and/or connection components.

One reviewers said not to use on home computers because of self encryption which make the drive useless. Don't understand the problem but i am really interested for my gaming rig. Can i use it for normal purpose?

You will not notice any difference with the encryption.  The "enterprise" label is there to indicate a more reliable drive than a normal "consumer" level drive, as these are expected to work 24/7/365 with no downtime.

I have no experience with the WD Black - sorry, can't help with that aspect.

I have had two of the Seagate Constellations running in a Raid 0 setup 24/7 for about a year and a half on my home network.  No problem with either one, although they are noisier than I expected.  Still, the noise level has not increased from when originally installed.  The reason for their selection had to do with warranty and uptime reliability.  All in all, a good purchase.

One additional comment - I bought the 1 TB version since the larger ones were not available at the time.  The way data storage continues to escalate, I wish the larger ones had been available.  I don't think you can buy "too big" a drive anymore.

I have a motherboard that can handle SATA 3Gb/s.  Can I use this HDD in my system at 3Gb/s without worring about instability?

Yes, I'm running that drive on several systems that only have 3 Gb/sec controllers, and they work fine.

6 Gb/sec SATA drives can inter-operate with 3 Gb/sec SATA controllers by running at the 3 Gb/sec speed.  There is no difference in stability or errors, it just runs the interface at the lower speed negotiated.

I bought one because I did my homework and dug up on this drive.  It is an enterprise drive, has dual bearings on the platter, not made in China, 128 MB buffer, 1.4 hour MTBF, 5 year warranty, and built for enterprise operation which is 24/7.

If you ever have a drive die, it is worth to pay extra and get one that is built more solid, made to last.  This one is twice as big and weights twice as much as the standard stuff.  Built solid.  It works very well, and am saving up to buy another one for my other machine.  Or wait until it goes on sale.

This is one of the old sayings, pay me now or pay me later.  I would rather buy the better built drive now and not have the aggravation down the road.  I tried to answer the question, but how do I answer one?

I agree with the saying you mentioned.  I bought 2 of these and have them in RAID 1.  All that is on them is my music and vidz,  I've lost those files before and getting everything back was a serious PIA and was not worth the time and effort hunting everything down again.

They run fine, I didn't notice any speed difference but that may be due to the fact I'm running AHCI mode for my SSD (operating system) and I'm not using page filing either.  But before i had the SSD i was running regular RAID and had page filing and the data access was noticeable faster.  Then i had about 36k music files, now im double that, so it's a lot to scan.

You could just get 2 cheaper drives, run raid 1 and change them out in a year or 2 just for piece of mind.  Every time i try to go the cheaper route (save a few dollars not in quality) i ALWAYS end up paying twice.  I feel your frustrations.

Brian- its the same size as any typical hard drive - but - if you have upgraded  Windows and are looking for speed and power...have you considered a SSD instead?    A 250GB SSD by Samsung will cost about $150.00 (Newegg Item #: N82E16820147248 )   And the speed- your computer loads ten times faster at start up and acts like its on steroids.   Its the better buy!   the only draw back is you can't defrag a SSD unless you copy it to a regular drive, then defrag , then copy it back to the SSD.  ( about 2 or 3 times a year )

I check with aida64extreme_business, it says the hard drive(st1000nm0033) consists of 2 disks. Did I Buy a fake one?

The drive housing may in fact have two disk plates inside (I do not know if that is correct).  However, it is one standard disk housing.  It is working very nicely.

its a single disk, mechanical, but....
the 128 mb cache...yes, it does help speed things up but it will be the noisiest disk you could ever buy.     If loud clicking is not a problem for you then this is a good choice.

I didn't test that combination, but I've never had a problem with any hard drive being incompatible with any motherboard. The whole idea of a standardized interface like SATA is that it's not supposed to matter which devices are on either side of the interface.
