Would an 850-watt power supply be sufficient enough to power this card?

Accepted Answer

Yes an 850W would be more than enough to power this card, as long as it has the right pin configuration- [one 8-pin  PCI connection(can be 6+2)  and one 6-pin PCI connection]. I am running this card with a Rosewill HIVE Series HIVE-750 750W. I cannot enter a link but here is the NEWEGG model number: N82E16817182133.
Typically most people recommend that their power supply be single rail (and at least 80+ certified)

Will this card ship with the Battlefield 4 bundle?

It didn't ship with any game bundles for me.  I've read the R9 series cards should have bundles later, but not sure if they will retro those bundles for those of us that bought the card without a bundle.  Great card regardless!

Would I be able to run this with a corsair cx-600 power supply?

The ASUS R9280X-3GD5 recommends a minimum 750W PSU with a minimum 12V power supply rating of 24A.

You will need 2 PCI-E power connectors for this video card, a fill 8 and a 6 pin connector. The CX600 only has 2 PCI-e connectors, so you will not be able to put anything else in that needs PCI-E power.

I suggest you use the Corsair Power Supply finder to make a choice.

I built a machine with this card and chose the HX850.

I'm running two of these crossfired on water.  I used the ek  universal gpu block and heatsinks the memory and other chips. Opened up a hole in the side acrylic of my m10 Caselabs and am getting steady 30-39c temps. These cards ran around 69-89c with the original heatsink.

Win 8.1, i7 3.4, water cooled, getting 78fps in BF4 without any overclocking. The only issues I had was with installing the Mantle Beta..dropped my fps to 30fps and just dragged the cards down. I'm still running catalyst 3.12

Which Card is better; The asus r9 280x vs the asus gtx780? Theres only a $100 dollar difference.?   Would prefer the better card.  Was leaning toward 280x yet prices look almost the same.

I recently purchased a ASUS R9280X-DC2T
and this card performs flawlessly, works great w/ Battlefield 4
I'm getting approximately ave of 75 fps( min 60 fps) on ultra high setting some maps 90 fps this is with  online play.
Since I've never owned the GTX780 I can't really compare the 2 cards.
Since the 280x is a more recent card ,I would think it is future proof 
My Card works great No issues at all.

Will this Card fit in my Apevia X-SNIPER2-BL Case?

The ASUS R9 280x DC2T 3GD5 Graphic Card has the following dimensions:

11.2" x 5.7" x 1.5"

The Apevia X Sniper2 BL Case will suppot graphic cards up to 13 inches in length. And the width of the Apevia is 73/4 inches so I am sure it will fit the width of the video card, which is less than 6 inches.

According to all of the specifications of the Apevia X Sniper2 BL & the ASUS R9 280X DC2T 3GD5, the card should fit in the case with room to spare.

Just make sure no additional hardware, like a radiator or internal drives will block the video card because you might have to remove the center hard drive cage in the case to fit this card. You might not have to do this but sometimes that is how a case can accommodate a long video card like this. I saw the photos of this case and it appears like the cages can be removed. That's a good feature for any case in my opinion.

This video card will take 2 slots on your motherboard and case. Just something else to keep in mind. I think that's all of the important info.

Yes, that power supply will be enough to power this card. However, if you wish to add a second 280X/7970 in the future, you will need a larger power supply with at least a 1000 watt rating. Hope this helps!

I use ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+.
I've never heard of a modern board not running smoothly with a modern video card as long as there is enough ram, sufficient processor and PSU.

I am currently running on a ati radeon hd 4850 video card with amd phenom ii x6 1050T processor, 8GB of ram, and a gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 motherboard. Would upgrading to this card (so i could play COD Ghost and future COD Games) be too much for this setup? would my processor lag behind? Or any other hardware components? PLEASE HELP! (PS: my case is a nzxt Phantom)

Your hardware is fine, however this card has major issues. I played only for a few hours before I started getting artifacts and all sorts of weird issues going on even when I wasn't playing. I have two monitors and one of them kept flickering all the time. I never had this with an nVidia GTX 670 card, therefore I'm returning the 280x and getting a GTX 770. I'm a professional PC tech, temps were always below 75C, latest drivers installed. Hope this helps....
