As highlighted in the review the drive is not showing up on the computer which could be caused due to various reasons, it includes interrupted power supply during drive operation. The SATA port of the computer might have gone bad.

If the drive shows up on a different computer then best practice is to run diagnostics with Data Lifeguard Diagnostics for Windows when a drive does not perform as expected or is behaving abnormally. We have placed a helpful link below providing steps to perform test on the drive.

Very good HDD for the price

Pros: It snapped right into my Orico Enclosure, and it rapidly accepted about 550 GB from a USB 3 -> USB 3 Teracopy procedure, which normally takes about 24 hours to copy over on USB 2, it copied the whole kaboodle in about 6 hours.

Cons: No cons I can think of, other than I ordered the 3.5" version of this by mishap and had to re-order it.

Overall Review: I wholly endorse this drive for storage, will be getting more of them. For the price offered? I would say, change nothing. I might even use this as a system drive, I usually order 7200-10,000 rpm drives for system (Or SSD's).

Do not buy if sold by E.O.L Tech Inc

Pros: - It was functioning
- I was able to return it without having to pay for shipping

Cons: - Warranty expired two years earlier (advertised as with 2 year warranty)
- Used with multiple partitions

False advertisement

Pros: None

Cons: Sold out of warranty hard drive as new.

Overall Review: I bought this hard drive because it says it's new. When I received it however it wasn't in any sort of retail packaging. It was in a box about the size of the smallest priority flat rate box at the local post office maybe just a tad bit bigger. It was encased in what looked like a new anti-static bag and then encased in bubble wrap. Right away I thought something was wrong and so I checked the warranty date through western digital and found out that the warranty which i knew should have been a 2 year warranty had already expire in august of 2016. So I called them and it's the only time I have been able to contact them. They told me that it was drive that was "old stock" and had never been used. With almost 18 years experience under my belt with computer I knew then for sure something was up and contacted Newegg. I got an rma through them as I have not even today been able to get in contact with them about my refund. They have gotten the hard drive back and it was shipped back just the way it was shipped to.

Great Drives

Pros: Running 4 in raid in my server, they work great!

Cons: none I can think of.

Overall Review: Yes, I wouldn't buy it as a boot drive for a computer but in raid, these babies do just fine.

Overall Review: 3 months in my laptop that never moves. sits on my desk. and today it decides to just not work anymore. the self test says it is defective. all my pictures, documents, and programs are gone. W/D has always worked well for me.
