I've been running ESET Internet Security since way back in the days of Windows 7. The software is easy to install, requires very little overhead and offers a rock-solid defense against the bad stuff. The program's default settings will satisfy most users, but for the more knowledgeable, there are more than enough settings to allow tweaking the software to meet one's specific needs. Adding to my enjoyment using ESET's software is their product support. They are quick to respond and quick to resolve any issues that might surface. For example, I once found that ESET Internet Security's SPAM filter prevented the junk mail filter in Outlook from working correctly. I heard back from ESET tech support in fewer than 12 hours regarding a fix.

I have been using BitDefender for years on my pc's and cellphones. I stopped using Norton as it consumed a lot of pc resources and BitDefender does not. It creates a virtual machine on your device that is in constant contact with their cloud servers. It has never failed to stop any ransomware attack or virus on my devices. I always bought the Family Pack on sale. Excellent sale prices on Newegg with quick download and activation key via email. The warning relates to buyers that take advantage of the limit of two licenses. So, I have bought these specials over the last few years. I activated the licenses on my BitDefender account as usual without any problems. You are allowed to stack the licenses for to increase your renewal date. Mine is currently set to end of December 2028. When I added this one license that I just purchased, BitDefender activated the license but did NOT add to my current subscription. It created another parallel account that expires in one year which now runs consecutively with my current subscription that expires in 2028. Why? Because there is a limit of 5 years maximum on one subscription. I just wasted $25.00 on that license as I don't need 30 devices to be protected. I contacted BitDefender support, they told me since Newegg is a third-party reseller, they cannot modify their account. They can't add the license to my current 5-year subscription. So, I waste this license. Also, at no time did any warning ever pop-up warning me that this license will NOT be added to my current subscription. Not on Newegg's site or on Bitdefender's website. So, I called Newegg support, I explained the situation to them, and no matter how hard I tried to make the support person understand that a second, consecutive subscription was created and I needed to replace the license with another one. I activated my new license too early. If I had waited for 12 months, then I wouldn't be in this situation. There was no rush. The agent wasn't aware of any restrictions on the license, nor does it warn buyers on Newegg's terms and conditions web page. Newegg agent offered a $25.00 Newegg coupon to be used on any future purchase. I highly appreciated that and will continue to be a Newegg customer as their prices and customer service can't be beat.

I like this program because its light weight less filling approach. Many antivirus programs are heavy meaning lots of code that does nothing to help. This software stays hidden always. Does't interrupt any software i'm using unless its a threat. It does a great job protecting your precious hardware.
