I want to say that the fan Does come apart for cleaning; one needs to take out the screws in the back and carefully remove the front grill. I purchased this fan to supplement others I have in mt Arizona home. We try keeping our home a comfortable 78-degrees, especially when the outside temps approach 110. We have ceiling fans and in most rooms we also have "tower" fans which we use whenever needed. This one fan pushes much more air than the tower fans while being quiet and a much wider area.

Absolutely the best fan I have ever purchased of this category. I am ultimately pleased with the performance of this product. I do see myself purchasing another in the near future. And yes I absolutely recommend this to anyone who needs a good powerful fan. I mostly use it on low, and mind you this fan has 3 speeds.
