First off its a $100 motherboard with a big heatsink, BT 5.3, PCIe 5.0, two 4.0 m.2 slots, comes preloaded with WiFi and BT drivers
Wifi 7, 5G lan, 4 M.2 slots The IO all works at the same time. On older motherboards you'd usually have something like "using the second m.2 slot disables two SATA ports" or something inconvenient like that.
My first Tuff motherboard was a X58 that last thirteen years and my second Tuff motherboard was a Z87 which still runs today after ten years. The bios is easy to navigate. I paired this board up with a i9 i12900k and it is as fast as a Hellcat. I did have some issues with an internet connection while loading Windows but I did some research and got it taken care of. Hopefully I can have the same luck with this Z790 as I have with the other Tuff motherboards. Since I have a rare and unique Cooler Master Nvidia case, I did a retro fit with this motherboard and I think it turned out fine.
Happy it comes with a digital BIOS Q-Code display along with pins for a beep speaker. Gigabyte appears to be using a new and updated BIOS interface, which is different from the Z370 and Z390 Aorus motherboards that I have.
As usual, at least in my experience, ASUS products have been solid performers. I use ASUS motherboards in all my computer builds, never had one mal-function.
Great high end mobo for bleeding edge components (when purchased). Combined with a Core 7 265k, 48gb of UDIMM memory and an RTX 5080 it has been rock solid as a gaming machine.
-Post code is great. Love seeing my cpu temp at all times, but it is a bit bright. -Very hefty in a good way, feels premium, especially the m.2 heatsinks.
- easy to set up lots of space
Plenty of features. Easy to use software. What more could you want in a motherboard?
I was upgrading two PCs to run Windows 11. Inexpensive with plenty of USB 2 and 3 ports. Meets my needs - I am not a gamer
No issues with compatibility and works great.
Works great. No problems with installation of the components in the case, and of components on the board. BIOS works well and information is logically presented.
I've recently built two Raptor Lake systems, the first with an ASUS motherboard and the second with this mother board. I like the layout of this board better, the DIMM sockets are also better. The board has been solid, I've been running the system for a couple of months. I used the following components, Intel Core i9-13900K - Core i9 128G CORSAIR Vengeance 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 5600 (PC5 44800) Desktop Memory Model CMK64GX5M2B5600C40
Well built with quality parts.
Easy install, built in IO Shield, plenty of M.2 SSD slots
Always been of fan of gigabyte brands , 20 years no problems
M.2 slot lga 1700 everything is great even has a c port slot which is nice idk what I would use it for
Easy to install Smooth M.2 drive installation Built in I/O shield Great BIOS ui Push connect wifi, not screw In
Upgraded from a 11900K to 13700K, a very smooth upgrade.
