Yes today 64 GB is overkill but if youre gonna do it, do it!!! Upgraded from 8 to 64 what a difference. Only had it in 8 hours but working great Temps are about the same system is much faster.

It's nice to have enough memory in my laptop for current needs, after the OS & etc. updates having increased the amount of memory necessary over the past few years.

Allowed me to upgrade my laptop from 8GB to 20GB main memory, increasing the number of apps and webpages that I can juggle without slowing me down. Slicing 3D print STL files goes much faster.

Plug and play, as expected. Self configured, Win10 recognized, up and running in 1-2min, no work on my part. Gskill memory modules are "better" made than regular non-gamer memory modules, and priced about the same. Better in that it has the quality look of the way memory modules used to be made before all the economizing of the made in PRChina types, which look rough and even dirty, albeit they work, while Gskills are Taiwan. I did not think it mattered but last year, I got Kingston memory for an upgrade and had weird random lockups for 6 months, I never attributed to the memory module. I spent months troubleshooting and even reseated the Kingstons. Finally I looked at the module with a magnifier and saw white fibers in the coating of the module, that wasn't in any module I've ever owned, including Kingston. Not sure it was a defect, but when I changed both modules to Gskill ones, that box has been flawless for over 1 year, as my laptop is too. I use it as regular laptop memory, not a gamer, no overclocking or adjusting of UEFI to speed up the DRAM, and I'd rather not deal with cheaply assembled memory modules.

Faster RAM for iMac for almost the same cost as the rated memory for iMac. You won't see any speed differential in the iMac, but buying the faster RAM does allow for the possibility of swapping the memory into your next iMac--assuming it uses DDR4 at this speed.

Two weeks after end of warranty my laptop gave me the BSOD look. The Big Box concierge service recommended Newegg for the purchase of new memory as the one of the memory bars died. I looked up the required memory with Newegg Memory finder (made it real easy). I've never opened a laptop before, so I looked around and found easy enough instructions to give me the confidence to try. It worked!!! Very very happy with my purchase!
