I've been using an HD tuner connected to my HT that was a nightmare receiving HD stations even with assorted and amplified Antennas. Family members walking around the house caused intermittent loss of reception. When the HDR-16 arrived I placed it in a convenient location raised the antenna, tuned WRFF 104.5 HD2 the most sensitive signal and it was immediately recognized and received first try. No fiddling with antenna or adjusting radio placement needed. I let it play 48 hours straight before shutting it off /on and using it normally.

I don't do a lot of channel surfing. I can only compare the performance of this unit against what I was using before, and this does a much better job of catching and holding the signal of the station I like to listen to. Audio quality is excellent for the size of the unit.
