I bought this in hopes that it would be a lot quieter than the 1200w PSUs that come with the 836 case. It is much quieter. The server probably is not much louder than a gaming tower now. I only have 1 PSU plugged in right now, I will order a second and report back if that makes a noticeable difference.

This is a decent little power supply. It is very sturdy and well built which gives the impression it'll last a long time. It isn't clear from the specifications, but it does have two 8 pin CPU power connectors which some server motherboards require. It also has plenty of other connectors for drives and peripherals.
