i purchased 2 1tb reds in 2012, 2 2tb reds in and 1 3tb red in 2013 and a 4tb red early this year. they all run 24/7 and with zero issues. 2 of them RAID 0 and 2 RAID 1 the 3tb and 4tb are all alone.

This is probably the best and most expensive hard disk drive I have ever bought to date--and it seems to be worth it so far. I know there are other much cheaper drives but those are notorious for failure and unreliable. Soon after receiving this hard drive, I installed it in my PC and formatted it using GPT and run benchmarks. Using ATTO Disk Benchmark, it was apparent this is also the fastest mechanical drive I have in my system even though the other ones are also rated 7200 RPM SATA III. ATTO shows fastest write of 155765 and 182196 on fastest read. That's fast for a mechanical drive! But all this would be worthless if the disk fails or have bad sectors so I used Western Digital's "Data Lifeguard Diagnostic Tool" and I run an Extended Test which took over 8 hours on this 4TB drive. Results shows absolutely no errors! But to make sure I run another 3rd party program to check again (Hard Disk Sentinel) and run another Extended Test that took 8+ more hours... same result.. NO ERRORS! Also I was able to verify using that program that this is indeed a brand new drive that hasn't been used. Temperature is also pretty good. Doing a long extended test only raised the temp to 42℃ (Ambient temp in room is 33 ℃). I have a big case though with decent ventilation.

Enterprise-grade for little money Subjectively, perform better than 1TB Barracudas they replaced Have used Seagate since ST-225

I'm rating New Egg not the product as I've not yet used the product. New Egg is my go to place for my computer stuff. I previously wrote a bad review (can't find it to change it) but it was actually for a 3rd seller which actually had a good ending. As did this purchase. I recommend New Egg.

low cost no weird noises and functions as it's supposed to 3 year warranty through the seller

I purchased two of these (my NAS requires that they be installed in pairs). Seagate drives do not fail.

Fast Large Capacity Low vibration for an 8TB drive spinning at 7200RPM Cool considering the capacity QUIET
