High capacity with very quiet operation. Sale price was great too!
The Western Digital drives work great. I use them almost exclusively in my Freenas box.
7200 RPM SATA 6 Gb/s 64MB Cache
I would recommend this product to anyone who need a lot of storage space and response from their drive.
This is a bit hard for even me to believe as I write it, but I have NEVER had a WDC drive fail me. Never. Cannot say that about any other brand. I use the drives connected to a MegaRAID 9265-8i controller with 1 GB cache RAM. In that config, these HDDs can keep up witht he xfer rate of my Samsung 850 EVO SSDs. 500+ MB/s moving large data files form the SSD to the HDD and vice versa.
These have been my work horse for over 5 years
Purchase four hard drives for my surveillance system. And, have not had an issue thus far.
Synology drives are guaranteed compatible and recommended for Synology enclosures.
good transfer rate
TLER, ATA streaming. Very good performance, around 5 - 10% faster than a Seagate ST3000DM001 I benched it against (in seq r/w & rand r/w). It is in fact the fastest mechanical drive I've tested. Very low noise, I think it may be quieter than my WD Greens and also stays unbelievably cool. I have not seen it go above 30C. 3 Year warranty.
Best performing hard drive for the price - only slightly more than standard desktop models. In fact the price is about the same. Five year warranty. 64MB cache. I have deployed dozens of these and not experienced a bad one yet. Good quality product. Smooth and fairly quiet operation.
-Takes maybe 6 seconds to spin up when it's been idle, great read/write speed (~100mb/s extracting a giant zip archive from a separate SSD) -Makes the dying cow noise when your PC shuts off which I find amusing
Low noise, low heat, fast iops at 7200 rpm
The best feature of this drive is how quiet it is. In my personal testing the performance is equal to or better than the x20 and it is a little bit less expensive. Going forward this will be my goto 20 tb hard drive. Hopefully its reliable as the x20 going forward.
The drive is very robust, I read and write about 100 GB of data per day. Very good speeds, it has SSD like performance for small files and speeds of 160 GB/s for large transfers. Good price to GB ratio when compared to SSD drives. About 20 people were I work have this HHD in their computer and I have not heard on any failures.
Great drive, quiet and fast Great warranty
I bought three for personal use. Fast, quiet, and hopefully reliable. Newegg shipped these very securely in a foam tray that can hold four drives then wrapped in bubble wrap and taped, then nestled in peanut shells!
