It's not the first one of these I have. It's a great drive. Mechanical, not SSD, so it may not be as fast although it's USB 3, but I do trust mechanical drives better than SSD for backup purposes, and WD has proven superior and more reliable than other brands.

My PC started acting weird for a few days, signaling an impending hardware failure. drive failure), I got this to transfer my files. It was just in the nick of time because just as I finished transferring everything, the mobo stopped posting. Setting this up couldn't have been easier, and transferring was lightning fast. The only thing that threw me was the cable. I'm a huge geek, but I've never seen this type before. It's apparently a USB 3.0 Micro-B connector. While not as commonplace as the others, they are fairly easy to get in case you need another one.
