Pros: Super quiet Basic 80mm fan, connectors (3pin mb, 4pin mb, 4pin molex)

Overall Review: Sent as a replacement for the bad logisys fan in my case, works great so far.

Most Critical Review

Does the job, except for bad fan

LOGISYS Computer CS206BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer SOHO Case 480W Power Supply
LOGISYS Computer CS206BK Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer SOHO Case 480W Power Supply

Pros: 1. Nice looking - yeah, from the front it is a nice looking case. 2. enough screws for optical and HD and two varieties 3. has power supply, exhaust fan (see cons), 4. In general a good case for home use. 5. two USB ports on front plus more on the back, enough for home use.

Cons: 1. Bad Fan! The rear exhaust fan didn't work and no response from Logisys support (only email available). Fortunately newegg made it right and quickly - thanks Newegg. 2. side panel bent. It had a dent, no biggy, but is warped a bit so a bit tough to put on though how often will anyone do that.... 3. Drive bays a bit large so there is a good gap, but being all black you don't really notice.

Better than described

Apple Retina MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.3GHz - 3.5GHz 16GB RAM 512GB SSD NVIDIA 750m 2GB ME294LL/A GRADE B
Apple Retina MacBook Pro 15.4" 2.3GHz - 3.5GHz 16GB RAM 512GB SSD NVIDIA 750m 2GB ME294LL/A GRADE B

Pros: - as described - I checked all the stats and it matches exactly (typical Mac, to see it really has the nvidia you have to hunt around, jut google it) - listed as B grade so I was expecting some really noticeable damage, but all I found was a long scratch on the outside. Otherwise, in excellent condition. - Price, this would have cost $3,000 to get new, so this is the way to get a Mac if you really have to (for my daughter and Mac is required for her film editing projects)

Cons: - It's an Apple product, so usability is not ideal, but that isn't the seller's fault. - it isn't new? but for the cost, who cares, it works perfectly and is somewhat affordable.

Overall Review: If you must have a Mac, this is the way to go. The machine is in good shape, everything is as described, and it obviously has a clean install and latest software. from my daughter when I asked her how it is holding up "It's been working wonderfully, I'm using it right now to read Oedipus Rex for a class. I'd say it loses charge fairly quickly but I also have the screen bright a lot of the time and use it frequently. It's great for movie watching though as I discovered with Donnie Darko and Memento. I'm still getting used to the differences between it and windows though lol"

works but annoying

Rosewill RDCR-13001 USB2.0 All in One Internal Card Reader w/ 3 ports USB2.0 Hub / eSATA port / Extra silver fascia panel / SATA Power - Retail
Rosewill RDCR-13001 USB2.0 All in One Internal Card Reader w/ 3 ports USB2.0 Hub / eSATA port / Extra silver fascia panel / SATA Power - Retail

Pros: it works. I can access my sdcard.

Cons: 1. very annoying - in windows expolorer I now have 5 extra permanent removable drives displayed even though nothing is plugged into them. my last card reader didn't do this - so annoying. 2. has 3 USB ports. My desktop has 2 on the front already and most do. 3 extras seems a bit pointless. 3. required a lot of cabling. I had to hook in SATA, USB, and a 15p SATA power for which I didn't have an extra power cable resulting in me having to purchase a molex to 15p sata converter.

Overall Review: I think I should have just looked for a USB connected card reader I could just plug in when needed. That would have been better.

Does the job but design needs work

ASUS GeForce GTX 650 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card GTX650-E-2GD5
ASUS GeForce GTX 650 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card GTX650-E-2GD5

Pros: Seems to be a good card. If you have a large case with lots of room no problem.

Cons: The fan enclosure is way too big. I had to really work to get it into my case without having to unplug everything due to the size of the fan enclosure. Then I noticed the fan enclosure is pushing down on two of my SATA connections which I don't like but hey the work.

Overall Review: It is a video card, mid-range, seems to do the job.

does the job

GIGABYTE GA-A55M-DS2 FM1 AMD A55 (Hudson D2) Micro ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GA-A55M-DS2 FM1 AMD A55 (Hudson D2) Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Pros: onboard video for simple home use just enough for home use

Cons: so far none, this is for the parents-in-law and they just need basic home internet and office.

The right way to buy a Mac

My daughter is going to college for film, and they do everything on Macs. Instead of worrying whether we could afford tuition I was worried about being able to afford a Mac. To get the specs we needed in a new Mac costs a fortune, but buying used allowed us to do it for only twice what it would cost in a Windows machine. TechGator delivered the product on time, and as a Grade B machine I was expecting some big dent or scratch, but it only had some minor scratches you hardly notice. The machine runs well, and I checked and it meets all the specs that were listed. So far, I would say this is a great deal and the best way to get a Mac. We purchased the 2yr SquareTrade warranty. Hopefully we won't need it.
