Hey everyone,
I recently put together a new mid-range rig and I’ve been trying to track down some weird micro-stutters when I have certain background apps open. For context, my nephew wanted me to help him test some custom game mods, so I went ahead and started by visiting this page to download the PC client he needed.
The main issue is that as soon as I launch this tool alongside a game, my frame rate tanks and my GPU usage starts fluctuating wildly for no reason. I know it’s not a hardware bottleneck because my temps are totally fine and my PSU has plenty of headroom.
This is bringing up a few related issues that are driving me crazy. It seems to be triggering Windows Defender real-time protection aggressively, which I’m guessing is eating up my CPU cycles and causing the actual stutter. On top of that, I’ve noticed it conflicts with my MSI Afterburner overlay, making the screen flicker whenever the tool injects into the game. Has anyone dealt with third-party scripting software causing hardware monitoring conflicts like this? I want to make sure my system is stable without just blindly disabling my security, so any advice on how to properly isolate these processes would be awesome.
