Hey guys,
…So I’ve been running a 3-monitor setup ever since I saw some banner ad for a splitter-box that would make such a thing possible, way back in the early lifespan of World of Warcraft. At this point, it’s actually my BASELINE setup.
Since my wife had a business idea related to it, I bought an HTC Vive Pro(I think that’s the one. 2nd[?] generation one from valve). While we’re not ready to deploy the BUSINESS plan just yet, of COURSE I wanna play with it!
My beastly video card(I forget) has 3 DVI holes, and one HDMI hole. The three DVI’s are driving my three monitors, and the HDMI remains vacant.
In a short period of wishful thinking, I TRIED connecting the HDMI port to the VR headset via a conversion cable. I learned that, apparently, HDMI can’t carry the necessary bandwidth for the 2 displays, simultaneously, to the VR headset.
In my perfect little gamer nerd fantasy world, I’d LIKE to preserve the Eyefinity grouping of my 3 monitors, left not necessarily doing much(except maybe one of them repeating one of the eye images), but so that I’m not actually reaching behind my computer, yanking a cord OUT OF a monitor to plug INTO the headset, every time I wanna run the VR!!
What am I looking for?? Did somebody MAKE such a device? …I don’t THINK it’s a KVM switch that I’m looking for, is it?
Does anyone else in this forum use both Eyefinity AND VR, without a lot of friction?
Thanks for any suggestions…
