Hi everyone,
I’m planning to build a gaming PC with a budget of around $800 USD (before taxes), and I’d like some feedback or suggestions to make the most out of it. Here’s what I’m considering:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500 (6 cores / 12 threads) with Wraith Stealth cooler
GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 3070 AORUS Master 8GB (refurbished)
Motherboard: ASUS Prime B550-PLUS AC-HES (Wi-Fi, PCIe 4.0, Dual M.2)
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16, PUSKILL
Storage: Timetec 512GB NVMe SSD
PSU: Corsair CX750M 80 Plus Bronze Semi-Modular 750W
Case: Lian Li V100 ATX with 4x120mm ARGB fans and tempered glass
The goal is to have a balanced gaming setup that can run games smoothly at 1080p or 1440p, while staying under $800. I’m open to advice on which parts are worth upgrading now or later, or if there are better alternatives within the same budget.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
That’s a really good parts list! Good job! But I made a pcpartpicer list with the same parts that you listed and modified it a bit for a little more performance:
I know that it’s $15 over the $800 that you were shoting for but it should give you good performance in that price range. The gpu is a LITTLE less powerful than the 3070 but it’s new and have 10gb of vram which will help a bit in some games.
I’d stay away from the Ryzen 5500 it’s outdated PCIe 3.0 with hurt the performance of PCIe 4.0 & 5.0 graphics cards. Also I wouldn’t spend too much money on refurbished 3070 when you can get a new 9060 for around $300 and refurbished for $229 Here’s a combo deal for Ryzen 5800XT Asus Prime B550 & 16GB DDR 3200

Good job on the parts list!
Looks balanced for 1080p/1440p gaming great value on the RTX 3070 if temps are good maybe bump to 32GB later for future-proofing.Only swap the PSU to a Gold unit if budget allows, otherwise solid build
