Rate My Specs as a PC Newbie (Feedback Welcomed)

In my last post, people recommended I build my own PC instead of buying prebuilt. My budget was 1,500 and I mostly play Marvel Rivals and Cyberpunk.

I’m open to any feedback or advice before I buy/assemble <3

At your budget, I would recommend just going with AM5. A Ryzen 7 9700X would cost you the same as the current CPU you’re looking at, along with a similarly priced compatible mb.

I recommend building around a GPU on the AM5 platform.

For example, a 5070 or a 9070 xt will put you down 700 USD and then fill the rest of the parts up, the GPU should be the most expensive part in the system.

This would perform much better for the same money. especially if you’re gonna play cyberpunk. The 9060 XT will be superior. You’ll even get some Ray tracing performance out of it. in gaming, the 7800x3d will be way better. In this system will be much more upgraded too in the future. I played cyberpunk on a 6800 XT and it had trouble so a 6700 is not gonna really do it.

you might even be able to save more money if you source the parts from different outlets. this parts list is just an example of what you can do with that money. You still have to see if the memory and everything is compatible with the board. But the GPU and CPU are a good match for you

Thanks, so I will need to go with AM5 and a better GPU. What do you suggest I cut back on to be able to afford those?

here’s another example

and save even more money sourcing from other areas. These parts most likely work together because it’s on PC parts picker. It would tell you if they don’t. just to show you it can be done

whatever board you go with you really want to get one with a PCIE5 slot for future upgrades they usually have an E at the end of the number, but not always. that’s what you plug the GPU into. with AM5 you want to make sure the memories expo compatible, and 6000 MHz with a CL no higher than 36. The lower the CL number of the faster the timings are. And when you build it, you go into the bios and turn on expo to get the full 6000 MHz. I think you seen the videos I’ve posted how to build a computer, correct? One other thing for games you really want X3D cpu

Thanks for putting it into noob terms lol, I need that. I have seen the videos you sent me :+1:

you could put a 9070 XT in there and that would be my set up pretty much. That would get you 120 FPS with cyberpunk in raytracing on ultra all settings on high, but it’s gonna put you over $1700.

I would recommend that the case gets changed to a cheaper one, there is a lot of good looking cases for under 100$ and they still look great.

I was hoping to stay around 1500, but I also don’t want to get something too cheap that I’ll need to upgrade really soon.

Here’s a good build for that price range.
