I’m new to the PC gaming community, but gaming is already an important part of my life. I play on very basic hardware, so I’m constantly adjusting settings, dealing with lag, and doing my best to enjoy the experience anyway.
Even with those limits, gaming helps me relax, clear my mind, and stay connected with friends. I’m learning more about PC building and how everything works, and I’m motivated to keep improving little by little, even if my current setup is far from ideal.
Being part of this community pushes me to learn and grow. Having the chance to win a PC like this honestly means a lot to me.
In 2017, I was a student living in Canada, getting by on a tight budget and an ancient, slow laptop that could barely handle Word, let alone games. I spent months saving every cent from my part-time job, dreaming of finally playing titles like The Witcher 3 or Overwatch without the lag.
I remember the day I finally ordered my first real gaming laptop. I spent hours comparing specs, reading reviews, and waiting for the perfect deal. When the package finally arrived at my dorm, Vancouver winter outside was poring unstoppable rains, but I didn’t care. Unboxing that machine was a core memory for me. I stayed up all night, mesmerized by the backlit keyboard and the fact that I could actually set graphics to ‘Ultra’ for the first time in my life.
That laptop wasn’t just a piece of hardware. It was my escape from stressful exams and a way to stay connected with friends back home through gaming. It’s been years, but that feeling of hitting the ‘Power’ button for the first time is something I’ll never forget. Happy 25th Anniversary, Newegg, for being part of that journey!

This is pic from my very first build, started in 2004 and upgraded over the years. I ended up scrapping it in 2011, but I got some parts on Newegg and it served me well!
