Recently bought a prebuilt from MetaPC. I priced the components from my pc on Newegg. Once they were all in the cart the difference in price was less then $50. I also didn’t have to worry about software issues or cable management inside my case. Honestly, unless building a pc is your hobby, I see no reason you should be against getting a pre-built. My components : AsRock x870 Steel Legend, Ryzen 7 9800x3d, Zotac Rtx 5080 Apocalypse, Hyte y70 infinite touch Gundam Edition, Crucial 32g DDR5 6000M/ts, Arctic Freezer 3 pro AIO, some white RGB fans and Windows 11 Home. Very happy with my ourchase!
Welcome to the forum!
Glad you’re happy with your Pre-built — that setup should last you for years! For a lot of people, prebuilts are a great route like you said. Some people just enjoy the build process, or want more control over things like the case, cooling, or specific parts ( fancy screens or custom lighting, specific motherboards). Things you don’t always get with prebuilts. just as a example on my personal builds I will only use ASUS boards, I just like them.
That being said, you absolutely CAN save some money building yourself if you shop around, catch deals, or use bundles — but yes, it does come with extra work and things like BIOS setup and OS install, which isn’t for everyone. Something else you didn’t mention, is buying a prebuilt gives you a network to fall back on if something goes wrong, something you don’t get with building yourself. Sometimes turnkey really is the better option ![]()
