I’m looking to upgrade my gaming PC for 2025 and would love some advice from those of you who have already built or upgraded recently. My current gaming pc setup is starting to show its age, and I want to make sure my next build is ready for all the upcoming titles, especially those demanding high-FPS performance.
Right now, I mainly play a mix of open-world and action-packed games, so I need something that can handle heavy graphics without hiccups. What CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage options would you recommend for a gaming PC that’ll last a few years without needing constant upgrades?
Lastly, I’m still debating between building my own rig or going with a pre-built gaming PC. Any advice on which path might be better for someone who’s looking for a high-performance yet reliable system?

Do you have a brand preference for GPUs? Or do you go with cost to performane with them.
What do you want with the aesthetic of the PC?
Is RGB your thing? Do you want a white case or one with color. Do you just wanna plain black and sink all your $$ into performance. If you build your own, you have lots of options to customize.

You can get more bang for your buck and have more personalization (If thats your thing) with building you own. Prebuilts of course are alot easier but you may have to make Compromise on the packages that are available from each company.
A custom PC come with the ease of prebuilts and you’ll get everything you want your way, but your gonna pay. Thats a decision you’ll have to make.

these are great questions, it’s important to start w/ a budget. That narrows down a ton of options to help out. It sounds like you mostly care about performance than aesthetics as well which is a good point to know already.
No big difference between custom rig or pre-built. Just a bit more of a fee for convenience.
