I was thinking about how much gaming setups have changed over the years, and it got me wondering about everyone else’s first PC gaming experience. What was your very first gaming setup like? Was it a high-end build, a hand-me-down computer, or something you slowly upgraded over time? What games did you play on it? It’s always fun to look back and see where we started compared to the setups we use today. Share your memories, old specs, or even photos if you still have them!
a 500 dollar computer from costco with a 150 dollar monitor. It was amazing, it had a 750 ti. It could not play most games at 1080p so I had to go windowed mode and make it really tiny.
What about you @user12087
Tandy 1000ex from Radio Shack 256K Ram 5 1/4 drive floppy
My first gaming setup was nothing special at all. It was an older computer that was already in the house, and I used it for everything from schoolwork to gaming. I couldn’t run a lot of the newer games, so I spent most of my time playing older titles and tweaking settings just to get decent performance.
I remember getting excited over even small upgrades because every little improvement made a noticeable difference. Looking back, the setup was pretty basic, but I had a lot of fun with it. In some ways, those early gaming days were more memorable than having a powerful PC now. Really enjoying reading everyone’s stories and seeing how different our gaming journeys started.
