Cons: Performance reductions due to patches to mitigate Spectre, Meltdown, and other architectural design flaws.
Overall Review: Unless you have an existing Skylake motherboard in need of a cheap CPU, why buy this? At the time of purchase in early 2016, AMD had no viable alternative in this price range if IPC and single core performance mattered.

If you’re planning on paring this with any new GPU then I recommend spending the extra $150 or so and getting an i5 or i7, especially if you plan on ever using VR. It can run things fine but keep in mind that this is a basic dual core at the end of the day and if you pair it with a decent/good GPU then you’ll notice bottlenecking.
I built my PC paycheck-to-paycheck, part-by-part when I first got a job when I was 16 so I got this cause it was a cheap budget gaming CPU, however if you’re not planning on going for a budget build or a PC for your younger siblings to play basic stuff I can’t recommend it, that extra $150 will be worth it in the long run.

Pros: Couple years later this thing is still going strong. I have this overclocked to 4.512ghz on an ASRock z170m and it's been stable for quite some time with no issues. Plays Fortnite on max @ 1080p w/ a Sapphire R9 290X. I'm about to make the switch to a Ryzen build simply because what I'm going to be doing will require more cores, but I wanted to bit this chip farewell with a positive review - it's been great.

This model is only dual core while the next generation i3 is a quad core CPU. This is hyperthreaded to act like a quad core, but it's not.
The integrated graphics are far from impressive. If you plan to depend on the integrated graphics, AMD has some much more graphically powerful offerings.
Overall Review:
Unlike a particular 1 egg review claims, it DOES come with thermal paste. The paste is already applied to the cooler, and you can just stick it on. I chose to use a different brand of paste myself, but I'm sure that whatever comes on the heatsink will work.
My basic home PC build runs quite quickly with this CPU. Just make sure to pair it up with a Solid State boot drive, and adequate RAM. 8GB is usually enough. If you need more RAM than that, you probably also need a more powerful CPU than this.
