Pros: - actually in stock and available for $620 at time of purchase
- blazing fast, noticeably faster both in real life and in benchmarking than my old 9900k and 10980XE
-only 55-60C under max load at 5.2GHZ with custom water loop cooling (maybe high thermals in general but runs much cooler than my old 10980XE) to be expected though since much less P cores
-very nice box lol
Cons: - motherboards very hard to find in stock for DDR4 versions since DDR5 ram is nonexistent right now
-new mounting cooler size for some reason so you need to get extra backplates or asus motherboard which has 1200 holes as well that let LGA 1200 coolers/waterblocks fit. Which begs the question if LGA 1200 mounting size works perfectly fine in the first place why is there a new LGA 1700 hole size to begin with?
Overall Review: One of intel's biggest generation performance increase ever and they are finally fighting back against AMD. Skip the 11th gen any and every day and get this now
Pros: Going from an 8th gen to 12th was night and day difference. Worth it!!
Cons: A bit pricey
Overall Review: Benchmarks nicely.. buy it, you wont regret it!
Pros: Noticeably faster and able to handle more tasks than previous cpu.
Overall Review: Glad I paid extra for this cpu. Ibe got zero buyers remorse on this purchase.
Pros: Handles virtualization well. I have been using it to simulate a datacenter network topology.
The price isn't terrible for what you get.
Cons: Hard to think of any.
Overall Review: I'd totally recommend this part.
Pros: When stress tested it runs at round 70-78 under full load with an air cooler (noctua)
Cons: Non yet will update the review in a year or so
Overall Review: Finally a Good intel processor
Pros: -Solid single core and multicore performance
-With Ai overclocking easily reached 5.4ghz all cores
-Idle temps 30-35C
-Load temps 50-70
-Really cool box
Cons: -Small Heat spreader without specific coolers this cpu could easily overload most coolers
-Nothing else I can think of
Overall Review: I would recommend this cpu to anyone wanting to get the best performance as of this review. With the right motherboard and cooler combo this cpu destroys every game or software I throw at it. I am aware that it produces a ton of excess heat in very high workloads. In more realistic and in my own testing, It draws less power then my previous 5820k. Keep in mind this cpu should be water-cooled and you will have a great time!
Pros: - Beats the pants off 10th/11th gen Intel, and hangs in there relatively well with the 5950x, a chip with 16 full cores on a smaller process node.
- Extremely efficient in light workloads and gaming (but strictly for gaming purposes, the 12600K or 12700K probably work out better)
- Running with DDR4, have not experienced a single snag or crash so far. (Though there are some games/apps with Denuvo DRM that won't run properly as of now, that's not exactly Intel's fault)
Cons: - Early BIOSes (at least Asus') seem to be overly aggressive with the boost behavior / multi-core enhancement. Updating to a newer BIOS dialed it back slightly and temps no longer hitting 100C on air with an all-core AVX workload, with negligible performance loss.
- If you're doing 100% productivity workloads long-term with any amount of overclocking, be prepared to invest in a big AIO or custom water loop.
Overall Review: Strictly speaking, the "best of the best" Intel has to provide right now, but the i5/i7 will come out ahead in value and power efficiency for the average user/gamer. Doesn't stop the i9 from being a beast, though.
Pros: Highest single thread performance on the market
Huge gaming performance upgrade over previous Intel gens
Undervolts very well. Setting AC loadline to 50 reduces power by 20-30% at stock frequencies.
Lots of knobs to turn for tweakers with P-core, E-core, and ring to overclock
Cons: Very high power consumption out of the box
Poor DDR4 memory overclocking support on the motherboards so far
Overall Review: If you're looking for the highest gaming perf possible, this is gaming CPU to match with a 6900XT or 3080Ti
E-cores makes this a perfect gaming and workstation PC.
