The main control solution adopts Realtek RTL 9200B, which supports the speed of 10 Gbps. Using USB-C3.2 Gen2 high-speed interface, the actual read/write speed can reach 160mb/s~280 mb/s (the larger the capacity, the faster the speed)
If your device uses the Type-C interface of USB 3.1 Gen1 (including USB3.0 and USB3.1) interface protocol, it will not reach the marked transmission speed. Secondly, the reading speed of your device is not as high as the writing speed of mobile hard disk.

The PS4 only supports hard drives ranging from 250GB to 8TB. If you are using it on the PS4, please purchase a hard drive of 8TB or less
About Capacity
The hard disk supplier uses decimal arithmetic: 1MB=1000KB, 1G=1000MB, but the operating system uses binary arithmetic: 1MB=1024KB, 1GB=1024MB.
Therefore, there are some differences between the display capacity and nominal capacity of hard disk products. However, this is allowed to exist. Please do not doubt its authenticity. This is because the capacity of the two devices is calculated in different ways, resulting in the reduction of the hard disk capacity displayed on the device.
We have listed the calculation method for you: hard disk capacity * 10/1024/1024/1024 = actual capacity
