Why complain about OEM
Pros: Solid smooth running drive.
Cons: Zero
Overall Review: Those complaining about lack of software are apparently noobs. Nero is awful Bluray software, even at just burning. For burning use free and superior ImgBurn For mastering and transcoding use free multiAVCHD For miscellaneous tasks use free Handbrake There are online manuals for all these apps. I've used then fir 3 years now.
Don't waste your money
Pros: Not really anything noteworthy.
Cons: DL DVDs have been around for 20 years or more yet this drive will not burn them - Unbelievable and I got stuck with 4 of them.
Overall Review: Buy another model - I'm done with Sony.
Best Ever
Pros: Non-Conductive, large syringe for end user, easy to clean up any excess. Does the best job of cooling of any compound I've ever used including past Arctic products. Lowered my CPU temps by 10 degrees at idle and dropped max under full load by 20 degrees.
Cons: None
Overall Review: Absolutely would recommend.
Great Prouduct - Low Price
Pros: One thing to consider is Lenovo's product support which is awesome, best I've seen in a long time. It is the online type and they have every driver or Lenovo utility you'll need for download. I bought a T410 which is almost identical and I was shocked at how quick these laps are. I upped the RAM to 8 GB and plan on getting a SSD main drive soon - It should be really fast then ! I'd rather have this than a new lap with Windows 8 or 10. Also it works flawlessly with Linux.
Cons: Is a tad heavy but I ad no trouble taking it on a weeks stay in Denver via carry on luggage.
Overall Review: I'm the workstation type so I was pleasantly surprised.
I love this item
Pros: Fastest method of backup (excluding using SSD) - Disk to disk using sSATA. Well designed sturdy enclosure.
Cons: None
Overall Review: I use this to backup my laptop and anytime I need a backup but do not want to overwrite and existing backup I have as in doing extended testing. Also the eSATA works perfectly in Linux.
My experience was fantastic
Pros: Lenovo as the best support I have ever encountered, albeit I have built my own machines for te last 20 plus years. Everything you need for the T410 is on their website. Mine came with a license and W7 Pro 64 bit installed, sloppily. I obtained a OEM copy of W7 Pro (They will not provide that) and used my key to reformat and install properly. These laptops are built like tanks and the eSATA port is ideal for doing backups with the "Rosewill RX-358 V2 BLK 3.5" SATA to USB & eSATA External Enclosure with Internal 80 mm Fan" sold on this site.
Cons: Absolutely none.
Overall Review: This little gem sold for over $1400 new ! It was an industry standard and this is why suddenly so many refurbs are being sold. You can download the hardware guide that shows you how to do yourself almost ever repair or upgrade yourself. Lenovo obtained the design specs for the Thinkpad from IBM and my experience with IBM over the years (since 1969 mainframes) has been stellar. This item is right in line with previous experiences. Of course you take some risk as refurb is not the same as brand new. But I'm sure they will exchange is there is a problem.
Slow but out of warranity product
Too bad no eggs is not an option. Time shipping was awful, The drive though new was made over 5 years ago
Its a battery that works !
Title covers it really - replacement battery for Thinkpad T410.
IMO...
They are selling used drives, aka pulls. They refund the money but at those prices it's better to just buy a drive you know is new. Over the last 25 years I've ordered dozens of Western Digital hard drives and not one ever arrived with bad sectors..until now.
